The Only Kind Of Cleaning I Can Stand...

A kitchen filled with messy dishes is one thing I cannot stand for. Any other room in the house, it's fine but the kitchen hell no. It must be clean. So I will start washing dishes. I love it really. For me it's awesome quiet time. It gives me time to reflect and think...

Aren't Dishwashers Just More Work Than Washing Dishes?

When loading a dishwasher, you don't even get to relax. You must make 2 decisions on each thing: how much to rinse the dish and where to put it in the dishwasher. Plus, when you're done, you're not even really done, you have to come back and open it up and empty it. Washing...

I love the feel of the warm water on my hands.

The smell of the lemon scent. The little bubbles and the idea that I am wiping something away to be made like new again. Really relaxing when not overwhelming. :) x

    It Just Relaxes Me

Put some music on, get a sinkful of hot soapy water and drift away watching the birds feed in my back garden....it's just a big chillout time!

Washing Dishes Helps Wash Away My Sorrows...

I love washing dishes, because as the title says, it's like washing away my sorrows or anything that's bothering me... My mind tends to wonder, and washing all that grime away is like a therapuetic tension releaser for me. It's amazing cause all at that moment no one is around...

    Mood Swinging

It's a strange habit of mine that I've found I really do enjoy doing. It's like therapy for me really. I honestly also think that the type of washing up liquid (whether it be lemon, fruity etc) does affect my mood. It's something I've gradually become aware of.

    Dishes Therapy

I love washing dishes...usually. But even more when I am angry or agitated or upset...or when I feel like crying. Dishes are lovely...it's like a big plate of misery that you can wash out with a sponge and some washing up liquid... and then you can serve happiness on a clean...

    My Favorite Household Chore

Washing dishes for me is an experience. The way some people will set the stage for a romantic dinner, is the same way I approach washing dishes. I let my dishes pile up slightly, like dinner dishes with breakfast dishes. Next I have to make sure the dish-washing liquid I use has...

    I Used to Hate It..

But within the last few weeks I learned to love it. It's so relaxing. And you can think a lot while you're doing it. And when you've finished: On the one hand you did something good because you cleaned up and on the other hand it was also good for you because you could think. It...

    It Was a Good Deal....

So I decided that when I moved into my new place a couple of days ago that I would make a deal:  I'll do dishes if you take out the trash. It will be magical.
