Researchers found a balance between cooperation and competition exists in group decision-making behavior found in cockroaches. The models used in this research can also explain the group dynamics of other insects and animals." That means roaches ain't the only ones what can do that. Don't you find that more than just a little weird? A pheromone is a secreted or excreted chemical factor that triggers a social response in members of the same species. Pheromones are chemicals capable of acting outside the body of the secreting individual to impact the behavior of the receiving individual. There are alarm pheromones, food trail pheromones, sex pheromones, and many others that affect behavior or physiology. Their use among insects has been particularly well documented. In addition, some vertebrates and plants communicate by using pheromones." Pheromone, thats a weird word. What is really weird, there are an innumerable species of little critters and plants that spit out their own combo of chemicals for whatever they want, and none of them get crossed up in the process.
