    For The Love Of Koalas

They are wild animals.  They can be aggressive, particularly the males.  They do have razor sharp claws capable of inflicting serious injury.  Apart from that, they are the cutest, most adorable, inoffensive creatures on this planet and I never get tired of finding them and...

    the Love of Watching Wildlife

I drive for a living and love to see the wildlife here in Mississippi as I travel. I have seen a couple of Black Panthers that had been hit by a car or truck. It is sad that it happens, but you can't do a lot to prevent it from happening. The one animal that I love to see is...

    Magic In The African Bush

When I was a youngster, we’d often go into the bush with my uncle who had a special license to help with culling in the Game Reserves. It was so amazing! We’d pack up the Land Rovers with all our camping gear, food, clothes, games and cards, and bush-stuff...

    Tasmanian Devils

These are little marsupials, about the size of a house cat, that live exclusively in Tasmania, apart from zoos and wildlife parks.  They used to live all over the Australian mainland but were pushed south and became isolated on Tasmania once it pulled away from the mainland...

    From The Other Side

I love to just watch animals live their lives in their natural habitats. This is why I love wildlife documentaries so much. I'd love to be one of the people who studies animals in the wild. Although it would be kind of odd if you saw a fox staring at you through your window...

Just In My Own Back Yard

I moved to my present house in suburban south London nearly 3 years ago. Since then I have found great pleasure in observing the wildlife that lives in the neighbourhood and visits my small back garden, most notably a wide variety of wild birds. I put out food for them and have...

I believe this is a barred owl.

.. think this is a female. She flew across my path as I was walking through the woods just before I went on vacation, and then perched on a tree branch, allowing me to snap and video her. What a gift!

    Easter Holiday Wildlife Snaps

A typical Australian road sign.  But we did not see many kangaroos this time.  A couple of Kangaroo Island kangaroos bounded quickly away into the bush.  But we did come across the little fellow below waking up from a nap. Tammar Wallaby, Seal Cove...

    Poor Squirrel

I saw a squirrel standing still in the middle of the road. I swerved to the right to avoid him, he ran that way, I swerved the other way, and he ran the other way and my tire got him. Not a good feeling committing road kill, but sometimes you just cannot help it.

It Is Hard To Raise Money For A Wildlife Charity.

Set a goal that maybe too high . . . trying to sell 2,000 wildlife calendars for charity. At $5 each I thought they would be flying off the shelves. Here is the link to the calendar selling page: http://www.wildlifeforever.org/store/product.aspx?c=wildlife_forever_logo%28base%29...

It Has Been a Help to Me All of My Life

I grew up in Texas on the Gulf Coast, and was one of four sons.  My father was an avid hunter, and was keen to pass on this knowledge and skill to his sons.  As the youngest, I was taken afield with not only my father's guidance, but that of my three brothers, as well...

I Love Where I Come From Because Of That!

I lived for the first twenty four years of my life on a s,aller Galapagos island in Ecuador. If I could describe the place in one word, I'd say it was magical. We lived close to the sea front, and frequently sea lions would come up and be barking and messing around. They would...

She took the bird from him and held it like a precious package. She wrapped it in the blanket, talking to it, cooing, she was focused on it with all her attention. The bird was frightened but weak and struck at her gloved hands with a lack of enthusiasm that did not quite amount...

I love heading to the woods

and animal watching. I don't do it a ton, but when I do it's totally cool. You have to be patient and really quiet and still. But if you can be stealthy, it's so awesome. They just go along with their business and do their thing. It's just as fun as people watching. If I...
