    Memphis Belle

An amazing insight into the bombers of WW2. Sad and tragic it might have been , but some good came from WW2 : proper aviation!! Today, everytime we take to the air, those pioneers should be remembered.

    Yak 3

Hi I like WWII Aircraft and the Yak 3 is my favourite, I don't think there was a fighter to match the nimble Yak at low to medium altitudes in a dogfight.

    I've been a WWII buff

since I was a kid and I love the airplanes from that era. I am in the process of building a replica of a WWII Airfield to help honor WWII Veterans, whom you know are passing away very quickly; and, not only them, but all Veterans who serve in our Armed Forces. I need a lot of...

    My Favourite Warbird

I love all types of aircraft from WWII fighters and bombers, the Spitfire did a great job and was in service for the full war so for this I have to rate it my best warbird.

Although this concerns an aircraft produced too

late to fly in WW2 I reckon this is worthy of including here. Every year our local Royal Naval air station, RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall England, opens its gate to the public for an air display and this year, unlike others was to have a dramatic ending! The display was nearly at...

    P-38 Lightning

I will have to admit that Kelly Johnson was an amazing designer. The Lightning is so graceful and elegant, but yet so deadly.

My Favorite Tv Show Was Baa Baa Black Sheep

I lived with a family who had a relative that flew in this squadron known as drunkards and misfits. They became the terrors of the pacific front. I live in the Philippines and we have an area that is honored to General McArthur for his involvement with helping to protect the...

    Avro Lancaster

Such an iconic aircraft. Famed for the Dams raid. I was working in my garden on this sunny bank holiday Monday when an unmistakable sound filled the sky. Four merl in engines roaring as the black sihouette approached and flew straight overhead. Thumper painted on its nose to...

The Mossie Is the One For Me

The De Havilland Mosquito ("The Wooden Wonder", also known as "The Timber Terror") was a military aircraft that excelled in a number of roles during World War II. It was a twin-engine aircraft with the pilot and navigator sitting side by side...
