Oscar nominees so far. Only 'Brooklyn' is left ... Hope I can find a theater that's still playing it.

Why do good scenes happen to bad movies?

Like the opening sequence of "Ghost Ship" --- brilliantly done and a lot of effort went into it. The rest of the movie (except maybe the little girl's story): there was really no excuse for it. Another example was the 1983 movie "the Keep". It had the medieval castle, it had...

movie after movie. My personal favorites are Carrie (both versions, although I prefer the 2013 one) The Sixth Sense, Little Manhattan. (I know it's an ENTIRELY different movie genre, but I still totes love it.)

    I just don't watch movies,

I study movies. Not like an education, my job is strongly connected to movies tough, I try to watch movies like I am in the director's shoes. I expect a lot from movies. Sometimes I get annoyed and give up in the first scene. Some directors nail me on my seat for 2 hours.
