Have you ever made musical notes with the

A View On Heavy Metal Labels From A Heavy Metal Musician

It's ironic. As much as we hate being labeled, we still maintain a bizarre desire to name things. Nowhere is this more true than in the world of metal genres. Heavy Metal. Sludge Metal. Thrash Metal. NWOBHM. Glam Metal. Hair Metal. Emo Metal. Nu Metal. Death Metal...

    Is This Odd?

I always have had an awesome time with music. It's just fun to practice my cello or sing for hours and hours on end. I'm in high school, I've been playing the cello for 6 years, and have been singing for 10 years. I was always the loud one in the choir, but I wasn't good until...

    I play guitar, bass guitar,

piano and drums. I've learned it all in highschool. And I teached myself a lot about music. I learned to play the guitar by myself, by just listening to the music. The first song I could play was Stairway to Heaven from Led Zepplin.

    I have played the accordion

since I was 6 years old. It is an instrument which I had a lot of trouble with when I first started to play it, but in time I grew to love and play the accordion with confidence. Now I am able to play it with ease! I also play the piano, which is a great instrument to understand...

    I've played the French horn

for almost 6 years now. There's just something about reading something from a sheet of paper and turning it into a sound that I found exhilarating. I also love reading and writing, so the fact that I love music kind of makes sense. I wouldn't say I'm the best by a long hall, but...

    Violin

I've been playing for eight years. I love it, especially when I'm playing a song I like. I hate being forced to play a song I don't like but it's not too bad. It feels so good to play and it's calming to me. I haven't played in like 3 months but occasionally I'll pull it out...

    Just Getting Started

I've lived in Austin, TX for 21 years and love music.  I play guitar, bass, and sing.  I prefer to write songs rather than just be a player.  I've recently finished a 5 song demo CD which I'm moderately happy with.  It was recorded on a 16 track digital...

    I've always loved music.

I took up Bass as my first instrument at the age of 13 and played through all my teen years in a heavy metal/rock band. As I moved along my musical career I picked up guitar, drums, piano and mandolin. I even played Bouzouki in an Irish Folk Band. I wouldn't say I am a good...

Music Is Life Mathematically Syncopated! Lol!

I play oboe and clarinet, I can play piano, and I'm fairly good on the acoustic guitar! I am not a musical prodigy of any kind, I just have a musicians brain! I enjoy music, it is a favoured language to me, and I do practice m instruments every day! I am keen to sing the merits...

    Does anyone else here think

that those inspirational sparks, those creative musical breakthroughs that burst out unexpectedly are some of the greatest feelings one can have? Something so organic that just streams forth with a remarkable lightness; an almost effervescent quality. Then it bubbles away, as is...

    Transcendence

I'm from N. Yorkshire, England and have been playing music in some form or another since I was 7.   Right now I play a lot of jazz tenor/baritone sax and sometimes a bit of classical flute on the side.   Music really seems to bridge the gap...

Musician, Writer But Down to Earth (hopefully)

From Detroit area I've had my music played all over the world. That's largely due to online sites like myspace, mp3.com, last fm. It's pretty cool to know there's someone listening to your songs at almost any moment. Quite a few folks have bought my albums over the years as well...

Apparently according to my dear old departed Mum

when I was about 2 there was some jazz or something on the TV - she went to turn it off and I said "No I'm listening to that". I can't remember ever not loving music - buying records, cassettes, CDs, downloads etc. From about 7 I started to learn the recorder and sing in the...
