    I've always been a gearhead

and a lover of architecture so ever since I was able to pick up something to draw with I have been drawing. I started up a profile on deviantart a few years ago to display my works and creations. I'm more of a hotrod artist than anything. I recently have gotten into 3d design...

"Being an artist means forever healing your own

wounds and at the same time endlessly exposing them." -Annette Messenger Drawing and painting for me is an effort to express my feelings and thoughts. I use it as a diary that mostly only I understand what is meant by the images I portray. I'm an emotional mess most of the...

    Art Reflects The Soul

From what you draw in your darkest times, to what you draw in your brightest days, never be ashamed of what you draw. In your past if it's sad, or angry, look at it as you've overcome those trials. Don't look in shame, look in triumph. In every single person there's a world just...

    Is Imagination An Art?

Ever since I can remember I've had a crazy imagination. I grew up in the country and we had 1 1/2 acres of land...I used to walk around my yard and pretend I was in medieval times. There were these two trees that were right next to each other,I saw them as a sort of archway...

I wish I were an artist.

........but I'm not. I have experienced out of all of the things I have painted, sculpted, made, and drew, there are places that look like I have messed up,but to me there is no such thing as messing up.

I try not to think about life too much.

I'm a writer and an artist. I exercise my imagination everyday to escape. I preach that living in the moment is the most important thing next to loving yourself. But PTSD doesn't let you do that. It doesn't let you concentrate. It makes your past feel as fresh as if it were...

I`m an artist, just three words.

Maybe that`s all there is to say. As an artist I`ve never recognized any distinction between the arts. Painting is what photography is to music, they`re all an expression of our creative species. I came to this conclusion nearly thirty years ago whilst completing a degree...

    To Some Degree

Sometimes I find myself never finishing a painting because I just can't seem to get it right! Just sometimes.... I prefer to explore in charcoal.... I don't do it enough...soon i will allow myself more to enjoy the pleasure , for now my easel sits aside collecting dust....

    The Value Of Artistic expression

As an artist, I benefit from artistic expression. I know that art gives me an outlet for my personal frustrations. Beyond benefit to the self, artistic expression is an important contribution to humanity. Art is the portrayal of perspectives. It can portray not only individual...

I have spent years creating art.

My work is in many countries and in several museums. My husband held me back for years, now he is deceased. He would never allow me to truly be a professional despite my degree in fine art. For years he pushed me into his background making my work look like it was a hobby. This...

    A Matter Of Accepting

For a long time artists were saints for me.  They belonged to a superior breed.  Maybe they were angels. In my deepest self I was an artist too, but I would never have said it in public. At one point in high school, when my results were extremely red, I won a national...

I feel like I've been creative my whole life, drawing or sewing things - I love to make my own clothes but it's so time consuming and when you have 6 children there aren't enough hours in the day as it is! And it goes by the by compared to my passion for working in clay. When I...

It really gives me a headache

when people say modern art is trash. I don't tell you your modern music is trash. I don't tell you your modern tv is trash. Know why? Although it's may be trash to me, it means something to somebody else. Modern art is still the same art from years ago. It's not made to...
