    I've never been into eating healthy

    but as I hit the tender young age of 40 I made some life changing decisions and eating healthy is one of them. It's been a major transition but one that I'm loving.

    Yes! I sautéed diced banana peppers with garlic

    pineapples and pineapple juice is more effective

    It's a challenge to go through the grocery store

    and think "What great meal can I make while staying under X calories and X carbs?" Settled on portabella mushrooms stuffed with egg whites, fat free cheese, bacon bits, a little hamburger, seasoning, topped off with chopped spinach. Now tell me that doesn't sound amazing.

    I consume healthy saturated fats.

    I avoid vegetable oils, aspartame, and wheat. My fruit and vegetable juicer is used often. And the change away from grains has made me a happier person, too.

    I prefer to eat whole foods, avoiding "from the box" processed foods as much as possible.  I prefer to eat fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains, and eggs to eating a fast food sandwich.  I feel so much better eating in this manner as well so it has many benefits...
