    I'm Going Back To Texas

I was born and raised in the Galveston/Houston area.  I went to school and worked in the Dallas area for 10 years.  At age 28, in 1988, I moved to New England.  I hate it here.  I miss Texas so much.  I'm finally going to move back in late summer of 2012...

    How I Miss Texas

I was born in Louisiana near the border with Texas, but before I was a year old, we moved to Texas. First it was near Plano, but I've lived all over the Dallas area. I moved to Knoxville because I got a great deal on tuition at UT (the other one). But I am still an Aggie at heart...

I miss Texas, and regret moving away from the

state. Having lived my whole life there, I starting bad-mouthing the state, and thought "the grass is greener on the other side of the fence". Three years later, after moving to Colorado, I now see things completely different. I miss the real people of TX; people who I never...

    In A Foreign Land

moved to denver thinking it would be similar to Austin...  It's not even a close 2nd.  The mountains are beautiful, but the food is sorely lacking here.  LODO is full of cheese balls and there are no decent lakes to be found.  I wouldn't advise swimming in the...

    Native Houstonian

When we were living in Central Florida, I really missed my hometown of Houston, badly.  Having left when I was six months pregnant was, at first, an exciting venture.  But, after our son was born, I realized how very lonely I was, for my friends and even my crazy family...

    Why Did We Move?

I lived in Texas most my life. I grew up there. Someday I will go back, but now I live in Wisconsin. Someday, I'll refer to it as home, but Texas will always be the best home in the world. Whenever I hear a song, or see a picture, that reminds me of Texas, I start bawling.

There Is No Place Like Texas

My husband is in the military and we just moved from San Antonio to the Baltimore area in Maryland. I miss the southern hospitality and the yummy Tex-Mex food. The people here are cold and rude. I am having such a hard time adjusting..

A Texas Girl Living In England

    No Place Like Home

Some may think I am crazy, and maybe I am, but I am living in Hawaii right now for the job, military, and the only place I want to be is in Texas. Sure Hawaii is nice, warm all year round, no offense to anybody that lives up north, but the fact is it is warm all year round...

I can't believe I am saying this but yes, I too miss Texas.  It is hot and made me sweaty but the more I think about the many places I have been in my life I admit that I miss the people of Texas.  I miss the Tex-Mex food, great cupcakes with sprinkles on top, and I...

    It's Warm There

"Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible." As far as I know, Texas is the only state with its own Pledge of Allegiance. Hank Hill is my hero.

    Want to Move

I'm from Iowa. I guess I like it, but it's cold. So far in my life, the Army has brought me to Texas 3 times. It's been great- San Antonio and Fort Hood. Weekend passes and shooting guns. Where a man can be manly and not have to kiss everybody's butt like you do here in...
