I Named My Computer

Because it is an Acer. *shot* maybe I'll create a persona for it soon. :>

She's called "Minerva" from Heinlein's "Time Enough for Love"  :o)

That's right, I named my computer/laptop baby girl. I love her.

Well since passing this group i think i will name my computer now... Guess i will call it cain

My main computer is named Misha. And I have a netbook named Owen. :) All of my hard drives and flash drives have names too.

OMG I haven't done this!!!! Oh crap oh crap oh crap!!!! I have been neglecting poor little.... Well I don't have a name for him.... Poor little guy!!!!

I have named my phones (old and current), laptop, USB sticks and external hard drives. Its kind of a tradition. Also, the names are never just Bob, or James, but taken from SciFis or jokes, basically anything with a decent reference...

I’ve named almost everything technological I own. The computer is named Pandora after the Greek myth, every Terabyte external hard drive I own is named Pan (Pantera), all of my USB flash drives are named Gordon (Flash Gordon) and the...

So I named it HAL after 2001 space odyssey. I'm glad it doesn't control my house though. Well, actually that might be cool. as long as it doesn't get a dangerous attitude. I'd like to open my front door please!

For my laptop...the 1st time, I named him Severus. But then I named him Metatron (same name as my journal). Because I TOTALLY don't love Alan Rickman. XD

For my regular computer, though...as of now, I'm naming her Shelley. Or Lola. It...

I named my computer Chibi because 'Chibi' means small, or tiny in Japanese (refering to manga-style chibi art). And my computer is an Inspiron Mini (made by Dell). Since it was small, Chibi was practically the best name for it. :D

The other day, I was thinking about how my computer needed a name.  I knew she was female for sure.  I knew this because she's beautiful, wonderful, sleek, and sexy; yet very often, she'll PMS and freak out for no good reason...

Let's see...my first computer's name was Zaphod (Hitchhiker's Guide anyone?), then came Zelek, then Zaemur, then Orion, Tyre, Iris, Theo, and my current computer: Zenas.

Whew. No I didn't buy all of these new, a few were inexpensive...

I named my computer Hal after Hal9000 from 2001 A Space Odyssey fame. Very un-original I agree, but sometimes I think he's out to cut off my life support.
