Stefany wrote on 10:16PM at Jul 31st, 2008 I am absolutely exhausted after a draining day today at work. They say that one can learn from their mistakes but good employers should know that this is not an effective way to train their employees. I have been at this job for 1.5 years and while everyone praises me almost daily for the amazing job I've done, I still get frustrated from making mistakes that could've been easily avoided if only I was trained properly or given the necessary information in the first place! I understand the stresses of staff turnover on the employer. I understand hiring managers are near exhaustion from the constant training of new staff and most often, they just don't have the time and you have to learn your job now, now, now, quick, quick, quick - but you know what, maybe if people gave workers the proper resources for sustainability, in the long run, you wouldn't have to deal with replacing your staff all the time. Furthermore, it is demoralizing for an employee to constantly have to learn their job by making mistakes - even if I never learn the same mistake twice - I feel like I'm being set up for failure.
