I grew up in the late 1960s onwards in a very comfortable house, where we all took off our shoes at the door and it was drilled into me to not only do it at home but to always do the same when i went to my friends. without exception all of my friends parents expected us to take...

    Keep the City Outside...

For me the "no shoes in the house" rule is a holdover from living in a big city.  Just didn't want to track the grime and filth of the city's subways, sidewalks, and streets into the house and onto the floors. I have a no shoes policy that most people don't...

    No Shoes But Definitely Socks!!!

It just feels weird to wear my shoes in the house although my mom always has and probably always will, growing up I thought it was odd, guess we don't always do as our parents do!!!  Love my comfy, cushy socks, not a barefoot kind of gal.

    Effort Notwithstanding

I keep trying.  I've tried flipflops and sandals.  Birkenstocks and slippers.  Moccasins, socks, even legwarmers. And mysteriously, I find random shoes all over the house.  They're like a transplant my body is rejecting.  I can't sleep in socks, either.  My body cannot be...

Hi, I was just curious if anyone used to give their mom (or dad) foot rubs as a a child.  When we used to sit on the couch watching the news mom would ask if I'd rub her feet and I'd just ask if she wanted her socks off or on.  Those were some of the best times I ...

    Gotta Love Socks

That's all I wear at home. Sometimes if I'm just going to go outside real quick for anything, I'll just go out in socks. I don't like wearing anything on my feet inside the house, but I'm not too fond of being barefoot either. So I just wear socks or tights.

I tend to not wear shoes period if I can get away with it. I just don't quite like them. Though this is especially true when I'm at home. You might catch me in my slippers if my toes get cold, but otherwise I'm pretty much always barefoot. :)

Since nudity is frowned on by so many people, usually the most I can get away with having bare is my feet. Also, many times I might have something on my shoes that I don't want to get on someone's floor, so I take them off.

    Old Habit

Not wearing shoes in the house is a practice I picked up from my oriental ex. Not a bad habit, actually. It is easier to vacuum or sweep debris brought in by shoes in a small area. Ladies! A pair of men's shoes outside your front door could be a deterrent to mischief.
