Traditions Of Imbolc And Early Spring

The Wheel of the Year is turning and we have arrived at the beginning of Spring. Pagans of long ago saw early to mid-February, rather than the Spring Equinox, as the beginning of Spring. As I wondered how I would celebrate Imbolc, I did some research on the internet and found...

Preparing For Samhain – The Beginning Of Winter

Samhain is the end of autumn and the beginning of winter. The usual lies from the “official” cowans are the usual lies. Midwinter solstice has been celebrated as “Midwinter's Night” for uncounted thousands of years. Winter is the dark time of the year when the nights...

    Atheist?

I observe pagan sabbats, but I'm not pagan (or even a theist for that matter), nor was I raised with pagan parents or around anyone that has shared any sort of pagan religion with me. It's something I've started recently because they sort of feel right to me. I'm not really sure...

    A Yule Celebration

I'm working on some ideas for Yule. I have a 10 month old son, and though he won't remember, I want to start new family tradition that he can grow with. Thought I'd do some crowd sourcing here. What are your plans or traditions? Any good ideas?

Goddess And Saint, Our Beloved "Brigid"

We witches will soon celebrate our sacred Sabbat “Candlemass” or “Imbolc” known in early days as “The Feast of the Bride” This holy day will dawn upon our eager hearts on February second. The Celts loved and cherished their beloved Goddess Brigid so enthusiastically...

May You Be Safe And Warm On Midwinter's Night

December 21, winter solstice, is Midwinter's Night. Midwinter has been observed in northern lands for uncounted thousands of years. The great stones at Stonehenge observe sunset on Midwinter's Night by aligning the central corridor. (Its opposite of Midsummer dawn.) But...

    The Turning Of The Wheel

Yes, I have celebrated the 8 sabbats for close to 20 years now. Samhain and Beltane are often highlights of my year. Now, as a growing pagan family, the Sabbats will become even more special. We have a new son to share them with and new family traditions will form as the years go...
