    I Just Couldn't Walk By

I was still in a very fragile state of depression when this happened, but it still makes me sad to think about it. I had just driven my youngest son to his hockey game and since we had to be there an hour before  his game started, I decided that I had enough time to go...

One easy thing you can do

if you have an iPhone, iPad or Android, is download DonateaPhoto. There, you can choose between a lot of charities, take a photo of whatever, and donate to them. They get about a $1 a photo.

    Whenever

I don't really see these things as being all that kind, because to me, it's just the way things should be. I hold the door open for people. I help people who have too many things in their hands. I will take the cart from someone who just unloaded it into their car, if I'm on...

So there's a guy in my local town

who sleeps on the street and I feel so sorry for him. He is always begging and looks so helpless! Today, as it was raining, I bought him an umbrella that I never use, a blanket that I don't need really and I got him a McDonald's Big Mac meal with a hot chocolate once in town...

A dear sweet, young girl I met at a local

social meeting, won my affection! She reminded me of myself, but almost twenty years younger. The more I got to know her the more I listened to the trials going on in her life. One day as I was grocery shopping, I heard a little voice in my head that reminded me of this sweet...

    Lined up at the queue,

waiting for my turn to pay. At the neighbouring cashpoint, I notice a group moving together in unison: a thin woman of about 30, two young children clinging to her dress and a young girl of about 16. They were speaking a language I couldn't identify. I observed them as the young...

I was walking home from a doctor's appointment.

I cut through the plaza, and as I got to the little convenient store, I noticed this elderly woman struggling with her cart. One of the wheels was broken. I saw a younger woman walk right past her as she tried to ask for help. When I got over to her, the elderly woman asked if I...

    Do a good deed daily.

That's my motto. No, I was never a boy scout.. The express bus I take to the train is one of those long distance types with the storage area underneath. They are hard to open and tend to swing back down if you aren't careful. When I see someone needs to store a bike or stroller...
