Generosity (Part I) In attempting to develop a

philosophy of the world or “reality,” one can be led astray quite easily by apparent contradictions. Whether or not our senses (sight, touch, smell, hearing, and taste) help us to understand reality itself, we must acknowledge that we are (generally speaking ) not...

The Meaning of Life What is the meaning of

life? Well, let's just say off the bat that such an question has no definitive answer. Sure, there are those who think they know, but at best they can only offer ideas - and that is exactly what I'm going to do - offer an idea. It seems to me that the usual way people go...

    Should

I dislike the world "should." As in, "What should I do?" This word shouldn't (haha) be used in the context above because 1) one doesn't consciously have a decision based upon their own beliefs, but also 2) the 'should' is based rather upon what society thinks is the 'right' thing...

Generosity (Part II) It is important

now to define some terms. The term “unwilling” means something that is done to one. It is giving by virtue of being taken from. “Willing,” conversely means that the giving causes the taking. By “positive” is meant something pleasing to the person who is generous...

Generosity (part 3, the end) If one is

extremely happy, does it follow that one must suffer in order to balance the mind? No. Once again, having a balanced mind is not about being happy or unhappy in the conventional sense of either word. If there has been an equal give and take, the mind is balanced-if not, they...

    Water

I love the smell of water. That may sound strange, but it's true. I actually have a bad sense of smell, however. I tend to not smell things that are there, and smell things that aren't. But I'm good at smelling specific scents on people, and water. Strange I know, but I blame it...

    Quotes Of St. Augustine

I studied him for a while, and here's a small list that I compiled. I like them for various reasons and so will you (if you like them at all)."The single desire that dominated my search for delight was simply to love and to be loved.""To move towards lust was farther from God""I...

    Ranting..once Again..

I Philosophise... This is another one of my pointless, possibly headache-inducing rants. I just needed to vent. It has already given me a headache. I wish you could take your brain out, put it on charge and be fully informed of whatever it is your wondering about. Ah relief...

    Ponderings...

I Philosophise... Lately i've been thinking a lot about death. Not in a morbid 'i want my life to end' way, but more..analytical. I've been racking my brains out with questions like  "what do i want to do?" "where do i want to end up?" "what do...

    Balance And 'greatness'

I am disgruntled. I believe that happiness, balance, and achieving 'greatness' are all connected, but I don't have it mapped out just how yet. I believe in it so strongly, however, it gets my heart pumping with adrenaline at the thought.I think I will be happy if I achieve...
