After many years feeding into the nasty habit

of smoking I have decided that 2014 was the last year that I would be classified as a smoker. I am also promising that I will not be the dreaded ex-smoker that preaches to smokers about the hazards of smoking or advising them on when they should quit, or about how they should...

    It's been 5 1/2 months

and I don't really crave anymore. I have recently regained my sense of smell somewhat, and I just can't stand the smell of smoke anymore. It's too strong...it's funny looking back at the time when I loved the smell and my nose was numb to it.

    On My 3rd Day

I quit smoking on Sunday- it is now Tuesday. I drove to work this morning with an unlit cigarette in my mouth and the window cracked. My favorite morning activity is the 30 minute drive to work- me and my cigarette... the cool air, the radio, not a care in the world. I felt lost...

    Day 1

Today is my first smoke free day in years. I decided that it is time to quit. The morning did not start off the greatest, because I awoke to the smell of cigarette smoke, which didn't help. My husband lit up in our bedroom right next to me. I reminded him that I was quiting and...

I Hope It'S Not Too Late.

It's disgusting. I started smoking when I was about the same size as a cigarette. I was eight years old, and the kid down the road convinced me to smoke a cigarette that he had stolen from his dad. I didn't have a coughing fit or get sick, instead I felt all tingly and buzzed. I...

Finally decided to give it another try.

I'm on the patch this time. I figured something out, though. I hate the way I feel when I smoke. I don't know if I hate it as intensely as withdrawal (who can hate anything that much), but it makes me feel horrible to smoke. I just want to feel normal again.

I have to admit this is a LOT easier than I thought it would be. Now it's almost like I can't even remember my life as a smoker. I still get cravings but maybe 1 a day that lasts for 5-10 minutes and usually when it happens I get up and start doing stuff to keep myself busy...

I quit 2 years ago and I still crave cigarettes

every single day. It's so hard not to go back. Especially if I'm upset or if I drink (which I also cut back on for this specific reason.) One of the things I miss most about it is the hours I'd spend sitting under the stars with a cigarette just contemplating life. I think I'm...
