I Read a Lot

    Am I Weird?

I read. A LOT. As a kid, I originally thought that reading was kinda dumb until first grade. My teacher showed me how reading could be fun, when she introduced me to books that were of interest to me. In particular, she gave me a book about dinosaurs and fossils, which also...

    So Much That

Way back, during an unemployed time in my life (there were a few) I used to read a couple of books a day. It got to where I wasn't choosing books to read, by author or content or title or even by how the cover looked. I would go to the book store, or the library, and close my...

Lately it's been mostly Sam Harris,

Christopher Hitchens, Seth Andrews & Jerry Coyne. Also read a lot of Stephen King and Dean Koontz.

As a child, it was my escape.

Now it is that and so much more - my school, a catalyst for thoughts, and how I travel between real life trips.

    Harry Potter Revamped My Life

I remember when I was really little I hated reading. When my teachers were teaching me to read I refused to. Now, I read a ton, am known as a bookaholic, rarely seen without at least one book, and even want to become a writer. So what happened? I have one answer. Harry Potter...

    Reading Game

How do you write a story about reading? I like to read. That's it. No story. Ok, maybe there's a little one to tell. Maybe I read so much to distract me? Humph, that's not much of a story! Haha!

I love to read a lot!

I am a fan of all books! I tend to read anything from biographies to racy books! Would love to hook up with some readers as well.

I agree writing a 'story' on reading is leaning toward goofiness. I read a lot, borrow shamelessly from my other literary minded friends, and never pass up a chance to browse the used bookstores. I avoid regular retail bookstores simply because it feels so tragic to have so many...

    Two On The Go

My modal reading pattern is to have 2 books on the go. Daytime reading for me is most usually a technical book of some sort. When I head for the bed after lunch for my afternoon nap, I begin proceedings with a minimum of 10 pages of this serious material. Often, as at the present...

    I Love To Read

Books are a lot of fun because you can imagine what is going on and the characters and scenes look like you want them too.

Being a writer myself, I enjoy reading quite a bit. I just finished a novel. I'm re-reading "Dude, Where's My Country?" by Michael Moore.

    Book Worm

I constantly have my nose in a book. I bring one with me wherever I go and I go through a novel each 1-2 days. It does get kind of expensive buying all those new books but I love them. I used to walk around reading when I was younger but stopped when I realized that being...

    I recently started again.

A long time ago I was a total bookworm. You never saw me without a book in my hand. Then high school happened and I found things that held my interest more than books. I grew up without TV and cable so reading was always my escape. Here and there over the years I would pick up...

    It's Like Coming Home

Every time I read a really really good book, not just any book, it's like an entire world, filled with details and its own quirks, opens up for me to explore. If, however, the book is not what I'd consider a really really good book, I will still thoroughly enjoy it and, in all...

The Brief Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao

I just finished reading this book and learned a lot about the history of the Dominican Republic. Has anyone else read this book? I recommend it if you haven't. Does anyone have a book they would like to recommend to me?

    Too Much?

Is it possible to read too much? I read at least one book a day, maybe I should cut back on the fiction and find some real people to stare at. Nope, books are better. *reading stuff* Now shoo

At the minute I'm reading "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde. It really is beautifully written. I can't wait to see what the new movie is like. I love that Ben Barnes will be Dorian, but I imagine it wasn't easy to transfer such a wonderful book to the screen.
