I read the trilogy every other year, alternating with the Dune books. I don't read 'the hobbit' nearly so often, though.

I've read the trilogy, reread it and will read them again. I always find something new, something I've missed. And after I finish, I still want more of middle earth. I think this is one of the greatest works in the history of literature...

I read it as a kid back in the early 1970's and then I read it again about 10 years ago, before the movie came out. I have to say, Peter Jackson did a fabulous job. I know he deviated from the books on several different occasions...

Yes, I highly recommend this book series, because it is literally one of the best fantasy series ever written bar none. Go out and read it, you will not be disappointed.
