Well another Fall season has passed

and it's one more year to add to the streak of not making it up to the mountains to enjoy the changing of the leaves. There's always next year...one can only hope.

    I live in the mountains,

on a farm. I love the mountains. They look different every morning! Sometimes there is mist in the valleys and we have sunshine. Sometimes the mountains are really cloudy and the valleys are clear!

I miss living in the Colorado Rockies.

I grew up for many years in Clear Creek County, Colorado. This was before the casinos, when all you had to deal with was the ski traffic or the campers. I return as often as I can to see how the place keeps changing. Not much of a little mountain community anymore up there...

Could sit and stare for hours at

such wonderful works of art. Amazing they truly are. Sorry but I am in no way interesting in climbing not a one. From the bottom and off from a distant. They'll hold you hostage for hours. Especially the ones with snow on them.

I live in a mountainous country.

Not like the Alps or the Himalaya. But some quite craggy mountains. I love walking in the mountains. I go any time of year. The colours are so different. The rock is always grey. It's limestone. But we go from green in the summer to purple in the summer and now browns and reds.

I LOVE it to hike in the mountains,

to smell the fresh, clear air as much higher I am going up and when I am on the top of the mountains I am so closed to the sky, nobody, who can trouble me - just peace and silence. And to look down from the hilltop how small everything looks like and having a beautiful view.

I love walking there in the summer. And even in the winter they are beautiful. It is still dark for most of the day. I am looking forward to the days lengthening and eventually it will be light enough to visit the mountains again.
