I saw the first plane hit. To this day, nine years and counting, I can see in my mind’s eye the flight path, going down the NYC skyline saying to myself, very quietly in the back of my mind, that doesn’t look right. I was brushing my hair in the rear view mirror; it’s...

The phone rang and it was my mom telling me to put the news on and I can honestly say I felt like my world just ended. I had family members who worked in the city and I had not yet heard from them. I can remember my words exactly it went a little something like this OH CFUK...

The show i was watching got interrupted. At first i thought it was a trailer to a new movie. But immediately i knew it wasnt but needed to confirm it by changing the channel to see if it was being aired on another station. Sad day.

when I found out. I lived right across the street from the college I attended and was running late for lab. When I got there, our TA wasn't in the lab. My lab partner told me the TA left to try and call some family in New York. I couldn't believe it.
