    Shaken.. Not Stirred.

the things with metal coasters is they go fast, extremely stable and can toss and turn you with the best of them.. But.. there is just something scary that you feel (is it real?) when wood bends. i'ts not a trusting feeling and the physical act of you being lifted out of your...

Yeah, at this place called Lagoon in Utah. The thing is like 40 years old. It's fun, but man do you have a headache afterwards.

I rode a wooden rollercoaster at Lake Compounce.

It hurt. I actually got bruised. This ride needs to be taken away. Years ago it was fun. Now that I'm old and cranky (coughs) I just felt like I was being relentlessly battered. I still love parks like this, and it's one of the nicer ones, with free drinks all day, polite people...

    The Coal Miner

When I was a kid we would drive to Six Flags - Mid America just outside of St. Louis, Mo. My favorite wooden roller coaster was called the Coal Miner and as you might expect it had a coal mine theme. Everything was wood timber and had an oily smell. During that time the park...

    Knotts Berry Farm

I think it was Ghostrider or something like that.  I think I was bruised for a week but it was fun still. That was about 5-6 years ago, went with my brothers.  Stayed at this really ICKY place near Disneyland but was all we could find with room available since we didn't...

When I was young I rode several around the country. Thrilling. Exhillarating. Exciting. The clitty-clack of a wooden coaster is different than the new metal ones. The zoom and swish created while riding is different. They just have a way of making the experience more real for...

    The Cyclone

Astroworld, Houston, Texas. That roller coaster was a trip. Big, bad, and scary. We loved it. The first time they convinced me to get on, we stood in lone for a bit. As we were getting closer to the front of the line, we could see the people getting off the coaster on the...

    Rebel Yell

Went to Kings Dominion in eighth grade for a class trip. Me and my friend Ashley went on the Rebel Yell roller coaster. It was so fun the first time, we went back for another ride.
