    The Corkscrew Meteorite

I live in the NorthWest side of Pennsylvanis right up by Lake Erie. My family and I have had the pleasure of viewing many different meteorites since we have lived here. I remember riding my bicycle to the gym one evening and while viewing the Orion above me a meteorite seemed...

    The Lake

Just about every year I go to a lake that my dad took us to when I was younger.  I will go sit on the shoreline at night and fish.  Every time I see about 5-6 shooting stars, and it is absolutely spectacular.

    Wishing On Falling Stars

I saw a falling star once, and it was beautiful, and magnificent...but at the same time, it made me want to cry. I was outside for quite a while one night, staring into space, and the brightest star in the milkyway bust into a brilliant ball of light and flew across the blackened...

    The Country

I grew up in the country and there were many nights that I'd go outside and wish upon falling stars. I love to watch them and every now and then on my way back from the farm, I'll see one go across the sky. It brings back memories from my younger days at home.

The Most Romantic Memory I Have.

I was young, it was my first summer love.  I can still remember the night, I was at my friends house during the Leonid Meteor Shower, August 4th 1993.  I had just lost my virginity, two days earlier and was convinced I was in love.  All night I saw shooting stars...

I've Seen Several "Shooting Stars"... (But that isn't what they are. :-) )

O.k. So we all know (or should!) that they aren't stars. Stars don't fall or shoot across the sky. What we're seeing are meteors - small particles or fragments of rock or space-debris which burn up as they enter the Earth's atmosphere. And they aren't as uncommon as people think...

    Insane Falling Star

I have seen quite a few of these as my head is constantly turned upwards at night. The most memorable one: I was probably about 13 or 14. It was a bright point in the sky. It looked as if it wasn't moving, but you could tell it was no normal star or any other light for that...

I was lying in bed. Listening to bad music and being bored with myself. I was facing towards my wall. At some point I decided to turn round, so that I can look outside the window. Just a moment after I did that, I saw a falling star :) At first I...

    Burning Up

All a shooting star is...just a tiny tiny rock, or even a piece of sand in the solar system that comes into the Earth's atmosphere, and is moving so so so fast that it burns up immediately. The bigger the rock/whatever it is, the brighter, bigger the streak of light across the...

    Yeah All the Time!

I see them on pretty much every clear night. They're nice. ok. The most falling stars I saw and counted in one night during a walk to the supermarket, was twenty-eight. I wasn't taring upwards the whole time though, just trekking in the dark. I have seen some huge...

I'm always glimpsing up at the sky, searching for that one moment in time where my hopes and my dreams are just a glimpse away... They say to wish on a falling star and well because of how rare you catch it, you never know it just might come true? Call me supersticious, I...

    Meteor Showers

I am fortunate to live on top of a hill in the middle of nowhere, so when meteor showers are due we take blankets outside, lay on the grass and shout "ooh" and "aah" just as if we were at a firework display.

Go Where There Are No Lights

several years ago, I saw my first falling 'star.

' We are all the way in Texas and those are rare. Turns out it was most likely a meteor thing that landed in Canada. We saw it on the news that night, how small of a world it really is.
