I Saw the Northern Lights

    Last night was absolutely amazing!

There was a huge storm then the sky got clear and the lights danced across the sky all night long. Everyone I know in this town was outside watching them.

    A Short Glimpse

This happened a couple of years ago during Halloween. I had never seen the northern lights before as I live in Maine. I was coming outside and looked up into the sky and saw these green lights just kind of shimering there. So beautiful. I would someday like to see them a little...

    They Are Wonderous

where i live I get to see them quite often but they are only green here. the city lights dim them down quite a bit but sometimes when they are flashing and dancing I will drive out of town to where it is dark to stare at them.

    Northern Lights

If I head out of the city and look up at the sky I see one of natures pure simple pleasures cross over the sky.  The shear beauty and color as the northern lights flicker above me.  So I lay done on the roof of my car, lookup at the dark starry night and watch...

    Very Lucky Me...

I see Northern Lights every winter! I think it is because of where I live, Northern Ontario. They are so amazing. You can actually see them dance across the sky. A totally cool experience! I am very lucky to be able to see them every year.

    Northern Lights In Canada

I've watched the Northern Lights through out my life. Minnesota is my home where I was born and raised.  It's almost common away from the city lights to watch this unbelievable show.  A few people would stop and gather to watch, but then be on their way. The most mind...

    They Sneak Up On You

I've seen the Northern Lights a few times when I lived in Alaska.  Here are a few more memorable times: 1.  Margarita Night.  It's cold, we're drunk.  We see the Northern Lights and decide to drive up to the top of a nearby mountain to get closer.  We...

    It Happened In Iceland.

I was in Reykjavik. I think it was late October 2002. My flight back to the states was the following day, it was late evening and I decided to go outside for a bit. I stepped outside the Youth Hostel and realized there was a funny color coming from somewhere. So I looked around...

My dad owns a cabin up in Yellowknife (Northern Canada for those who don't know). He usually just rents it out, but a couple times me and my family have gone up there for the winter. The unbelievably cold weather (Normal for Canada, hehe) is totally worth the lights. I remember...

    Northern Lights

I've only seen the northern lights once and that was in far northern California of all places back in 2003 (I think, but not sure).    Due to a solar flare on the sun the lights dipped down that far south.  To get away from the city lights I drove up to Shasta...
