I Say 'soda' Instead of 'pop'

Instead of saying soda, I seem to always just react and say Coke. To me it seems that "soda" is "coke" whether I want a Pepsi, Mountain Dew, or any kind of "Soda"I guess that's what you get for being a coke addict.

Ok let me just leave it at this. if you say "pop" or god forbid "tonic" you were a child in the 50's. that's it.

I'm from the south and I don't think I've ever heard someone say 'pop'. Pop is such a northern word. Like crawdads.

When I was little, I heard it said sodapop and in the south I have heard it sodiepop. I just call it what the drink is; coke,pepsi,or whatever.

As a mixer!
The only time I drink soda is as  mixer with my jim beam...or what not.  Sometimes gingerale is good with a vodka concoction.  Orange soda can go with vodka too.  Captain and coke is a nice fall back...

It's soda pop. So soda is right.
Besides that the way I was raised. That's what everybody called it.
