    No More Stubborn Pride

I’ve tried many different drugs to calm myself over the years, or accelerate myself as the case may be. But long story short, I can easily get carried away and overdo it which I’m sure has lead to irreparable damage. Thus I’m going to do what I think is best for me, I’m...

How To Stop Myself From Self Medicating?

I'm 18. I don't self-medicate with illegal drugs or alcohol. I regularly overdose on over-the-counter drugs, panadol mostly. I have read what this will eventually do, but I don't believe it will happen to me - call it immaturity or a disillision, I don't mind. It makes me feel...

I don't recommend too much of this though.

For several months I was having multiple seizures especially during work - not the classic type that is recognized as seizures, but a really bothersome variety that often gets misdiagnosed as fainting, stupidity, or panic attacks. Since the doctors continued to refuse testing...

    I Turn To Alcohol When...

... when the going gets rough, when I'm upset or angry or just need to relax and get rid of this awful anxiety. When I'm depressed and fed up and just want, no, NEED to feel some "happiness" (even tho it's a fake happiness) after a long hard lonely week. I have to be very...

I self medicate to take the edge off my intense emotions. I'm like ADHD/Bipolar. Very upsy and downsy. Like a rollercoaster. My mood is volatile. When I'm focused I'm really peaceful. When I'm down I can be really depressed or irritable. When I'm high I'm wilde. I use meds...

    Self Medicating

I self medicate just to get myself out of bed, it's a horrible feeling thinking that I can't get up or go out or talk to someone without a couple of pills or a bottle or 2. If it makes for a better more positive day then whats the harm, I think the stuff I get from my doctor...

for a variety of reasons, none over the counter or prescribed. I smoke heroin to help me cope with anxiety and emotional meltdowns. I smoke ice to keep me productive on major projects. I smoke weed to help me sleep, I drink high caffeine drinks to wake me up in the morning. I...

"I smoke and I dink and every time I blink I have a tiny dream. As bad as I am, I'm proud of the fact that I'm worse than I seem" I self medicate. I drink and will take any drug I can get my hands on...besides crack. Will never do it.

So what's the best way to self medicate?

The pain is getting real bad. Day to day is becoming an immense struggle. Thinking about starting to smoke again, but the cost (in $) is gonna be kinda high. Same for booze. Besides, I gotta be able to function somewhat normally to meet my obligations and responsibilities. Any...

What of it? Is there really someone out there

who expects me to go to the doctor every time I have a runny nose, or an ear-infection, or I can't sleep? Cause that **** ain't gonna fly. I grew up in a self-medicating household, and at least that aspect of it all worked out. I picked up the habit there and will likely...

    It Never Fails

I drink beer to get over my social phobia.  I smoke cannabis to get me through my writer's block. The booze makes me depressed in the long run, the cannabis can give me the fear in the short term. To medicate against both I reach for my guitar.

I Stubbornly Feel I Know Better

I have been self medicating ever since I was fifteen, I think. Whatever the doctor prescribed, I would take, but I would up the dose or stop taking the medication where I saw fit. The same thing goes for the warning labels; I ignore them. I don't let a piece of paper tell me what...

I might be going down a slippery slope.

I get so much anxiety during the end of the school year (I'm a senior in college) I can't handle it. I get anxiety. I FREAK out. I started taking small amounts of Xanax once I finish studying to calm myself down. I'm not prescribed. I buy it from a drug dealer. And I literally...
