    The Only Bass In The 5th Grade....

    I'm now 49 and although I can sing harmony to the tenors, it's not strong enough to be a lead. I can, however, go as low as a pedal B-flat and up above middle C, although the further I go up, the softer it becomes.

    Russian Bass Lol

    I've always had a deep, dark voice. I can't even remember being able to sing in the tenor range in high school, I was always the kid in chorus who could hit the lowest notes. It was a love/hate relationship. Everyone thought it was cool that I could hit 2 octaves below middle C...

    I sing the BASS part in a women's barbershop

    chorus called Harmony Northwest Chorus! We are affiliated with Sweet Adeline's International. It's awesome to hear the sound of "barbershop chords" - just voices - no musical accompaniment.

    Just the Lowdown

    I have a fairly deep, gravelly voice that my voice coach liked to compare to Leonard Cohen's. I was singing with local community choruses and symphony choruses when the Met was staging Eugene Onegin, and was searching nationwide for chorus members who could hit the low notes...
