TOOK A PHOTO OF THE MOON ON 8/1/12 AT 9 p.m. OVER EWA BEACH IN HAWAII. THE NEXT MORNING, I HAD TO TAKE ANOTHER PHOTO BECAUSE AT 6 a.m., WITH THE SUN RISING TO MY LEFT, THIS BIG BEAUTIFUL MOON WAS STILL SHINING. I DID A DOUBLE TAKE TO MAKE SURE THAT IT WASN'T ACTUALLY THE SUN...

    Halloween Orange

We stepped onto the front porch of the tiny white cottage at the edge of town where the self-proclaimed Queen of Halloween lives along with a fearsome pair of Doberman pincers.  The children heralded their own arrival with the traditional “trick-or-treat!”, and a...

Especially when I see multiple tornadoes, which I have done! But besides that, I am a sky junkie.  Fair weather or foul, day or night, the sky is an ever-fascinating theater, in High-Definition, and with Surround Sound!

As a Child, When You Come to Realize That the Sky Starts At Your Feet, You Can’t Help But to Appreciate That You Live In the Sky and Start Looking Up At Things.

It wasn’t until I started to make a list of things that I felt lucky to have seen in my life that I came to appreciate how many things related to the sky. I appreciate that the things to follow are not directly sky related, but they are experiences that I did not know...

While I Was Driving To Work This Morning...

It Inspires Me With Infinite Awe And Wonder

I have always loved studying the cosmos with telescopes. The stars as they appear to our eyes.  The Eta carina is a massive star that contains 100 times the mass of the Sun and shines very brightly in it's own right. Then there are the nebulai and how they are star producing...

My sister and I are storm enthusiasts.

We are always eagerly awaiting the next cumulonimbus cloud to watch from a hill. In a coastal southern city so we have them a lot in the summer. The afternoon showers are the only thing that make the wretched heat bearable. We look up.... Stars, clouds, it's all fascinating

us. Well we look but we glance not purposefully looking. It is only until we look we realise it's beauty. We know what's above us but we fail to appreciate it, we think it's always the same. It makes me smile when i see how beautiful it is, to take it in, to see what is there...
