I Stayed Up All Night Reading A Book

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 1,419 People

    I finished a series in 18 hours.

The reason ereaders rule is I didn't have to wait for the bookstore to open. I can dl the series at 4 am which Is what I did. Finished at 7 am or something. That was sometime this past summer. Overall I felt fulfilled. I always have to know what happens.

Have done this with some good mysteries

or well-written fantasy novels (Watership Down). Mostly do it when my asthma meds have me wired and I can't sleep. Did this last night and read all of "The Storied Life of A. J. Fikery," not a great book, but a fun read: most especially because it's a novel about booksellers...

I have a bad habit of doing this.

I just get so into a book and can't put it down. Its physically impossible for me to do so. I have a crazy obsession with reading. I just love it.

Can't Put A Good Book Down.

This is why I always run out of good books. When I get one, I tend to get so engrossed that I'll read it cover to cover in more or less one sitting, much to the detriment of my social life and work :D Pratchett is particularly bad at writing books that are impossible to put down...

When I get a book I usually feel the need to read it as soon as possible. I'll read a 500 page novel in a day and if that means staying up all night to do it then I will. I find I get engrossed in to, I tell myself "one more chapter then bed" "I'll get to page xx and then bed...

I guess you could consider it all night.

A long time ago.. It was the first (relatively long) fiction book that I'd become completely immersed in and I didn't want to stop reading until the end. My friend was dying for me to read it so she let me borrow hers, and I ended up finishing it just before midnight.

    So Many Times

If I find a good book, I can stay up all night reading it. In fact, I can read 200 pages a day. If I'm absorbed in the book, I never notice the time. I have to force myself to go to sleep so that I can wake up in the morning. ^.^   Ah, good times.
