their brains and they decided to "downgrade" Pluto to a "dwarf planet" or "minor celestial body". Why? Because it's small? Woo hoo big freakin' deal! Perhaps it's because Pluto's orbit is eccentric.
It still orbits the sun!!! It's a chunk of rock!!! It's a planet!!!
if i was the sun i would live on pluto...
not just because im so hot im burning up. but because my favorite color is blue. I love you Pluto. we should elope... well i would like to go there when its physicly possible. i cant keep my hopes up... lol. i know im crazzy but if i...
through the earth science text book and crossed out all the times it said eight planets and wrote nine and i would edit whatever else there was that disqualified pluto as a planet, it really isnt fair, thats like telling someone that they won the lottery and letting them believe...
I woke up one day and people said Pluto wasn't a planet anymore. I don't really understand- mass or whatever you cant just teach us that something is one thing forever and then decide on a whim that it is something else...
*LOL* i have a fondness for Pluto it...
Alas, alas. Alas, poor Pluto.
Once a mighty planet,
Now just cosmic proscuitto.
From dessert to after-dinner mint
Thanks to astronomer's judo.
Barycentric waltzes unpopular,
Eris had more mass than you do;
So your proud planetary status
Is now simply pseudo.
and i now understand why they downgraded pluto. its really silly. Half of them think it still is a planet and the others think its a dwarf planet. So I think until they all can get on the same page, its still a planet to me.
already, if that doesn't make it a planet, I don't know what will... And I did hear were other "dwarf planets" discovered beyond Pluto that also orbit the sun, but in my view, anything that orbits the sun should be classified as a planet!
Pluto has been a planet sense 1930 and still is a planet, just cause you slap 'dwarf' in front of it doesn't make it stop being a planet. It is and always will be a planet and the second ruler of scorpio, I'll teach this to my children and to their children's children.
It is so strange when the most acclaimed and approved scientists worldwide first for centuries "believe" - with significant amount of research - in geocentric system, and later - in heliocentric such.... Then again similar people for centuries truly "believe"...
When you are raised thinking something is the way it is,it is hard to find out it is not.I still think of it as a planet and I am sure my kids who are too young to care right now, will someday correct me. :)
I've grown up writing tests, drawig diagrams, even building models with Pluto firmly in the planets of the Solar System. Call me a rebel, call me old-fashioned, but no matter what those scientists say Pluto will always be a planet to me.
