    Why Not?

i still have a vcr, and i love it. i have a lot of vhs tapes that work fine, and i don't see the point in not having a vcr so i can watch them as is without having to go through any of that conversion stuff (i doubt i'd be too sucessful in figuring that out, anyway!) i like...

    I Have 2 of Them

One for each TV.  Both are in good shape as well as a lot of the tapes I have.  I don't tape much anymore unless it's a series I like to watch over and over again (and isn't posted to the internet or on demand).  The recording holds me over until the show I taped...

I Really Should Get Rid of It

When I was a kid I used to have looooads of VHS tapes. But I've moved house a couple times and now I only have about 20 or so left. :( I don't have Peter Pan or Cinderella or Lion King. Buuut, all those old movies have come out on DVD now, so I might as well...

    My Wifes Fault

One of our dvd players just died so my wife decided we needed a vcr/dvd combo.  I am ready to throw out the vhs tapes, most of my favorites have been reissued on dvd anyway.  But she wants to keep them and watch them occasionally.  Here is the joke though. ...

    It Came With My Tv

The only reason I have a VCR is because it came with my TV. My TV has both a DVD player and a VCR. You can record TV shows with my VCR. But, I also have an external/stand-alone VCR that is my mother's room, so technically it is her's and not mine. I have old VHS tape that we like...

yeah, i still have a vcr player and i still use it. I'm not the type to actually buy a movie when I can see it online. So when I did buy a few movies (kidz, american beauty, confessions of a trickbaby), they were vcr. The only dvd player I have is on my computer, and I've MAYBE...

    I Do

I still have a VCR, it's a dual VCR/DVD combo but I insisted on having one in my house to still be able to watch my old Disney movies I kept on VHS. It's great to watch them and relive from when you watched them as a child.

    Bought Mine On Ebay

I think my VCR was honestly my first purchase on eBay.  My parents had bought one for me and my brother to share in the mid 90s, but when he took off for university, he took it with him and I was left without.  So I bought my VCR in 2001, which came with 6 tapes for $20...

    I Have a Vcr...

...But I have no tapes. The last one died a few months ago, and now the widowed machine sits empty and lonely...nothing to fill the void inside.

    Some Insecurity

I don't understand it. VHS tapes became mainstream in the early 1980s, and they held their own for roughly 20 years. At the end of those two decades, DVDs were swiftly becoming mainstays. Well, it hasn't even been 10 years, and already DVDs are being replaced by Blu-rays...

I Love It Like A Child.

That little mutha must be at least 20 years old, but there are some things I still refuse to watch on a DVD player. Most of them are old cartoons I watched all the time as a kid (Peter Pan, Fantasia, Cinderella, etc.). Some things, like the original Star Wars trilogy (which has...
