    Go Figure...

So, it should be no surprise that I, as a natural redhead, burn with almost no provocation. Sometimes it seems like my skin pinks up if I think about going outside. Unfortunately, it took a couple of rather painful incidents for me to finally accept this and stop trying to...

I have to use really heavy SPF (at least 70)

and reapply at least once an hour or I'll fry like burger. Last summer, my friends and I went to a watering hole in the woods for on a hot day and I forgot to reapply lotion. By lunch I was peeling like a banana. Being pale is fun...until everybody you know wants to match their...

    Worst Sunburn

So last summer I went to Costa Rica and we spent a whole day on the beach. Well knowing that I have fair skin I put spf 100 on and I reapplied every hour. When I got back to the hotel I realized that I looked like a lobster and my entire back and shoulders hurt so bad. I did not...

    Crispy Critter

When I was a child there was an outing with a local group. We went to a water park, and we packed the highest SPF we could, and we applied it all over my exposed skin. Upon arriving home, I had send or third degree burns (I lost multiple layers of skin), I was...

I am so pale. I lay out in the sun

for like 3 hours and I just get red then go back to being pale. I don't get it, the ret of my family is so tan and then I'm all like ghosty ghost. I cant wear sunscreen either because I burn 10x worst with it. I am just destined to be forever pale........

    Like a Lobster

I don't tan - I just turn red like a lobster.  Will use sunblock when I'm going to be out in the sun for long periods, but always seem to miss a spot.

My skin can't take the sun these days, it was never that great at it before, it's only gotten worse. Every year it's hotter and brighter out. Uuuuuhhh. I get so tied of slapping on sunscreen. Spring and Fall are sooooo much better than summer mostly because I can walk in the...

    Red As The Devil

I'll never forget when I was fourteen or fifteen. I convinced my mom and step-dad to let me and my lunk-headed head-banger friend go camping on our own at Alberta Beach for 3 nights.  The first thing I did after we got camp set up was go down to the beach to get a tan.  I was...

I sunburn really easily. My neck, back and knees especially. My arms usually tan, and the rest of me, likes to turn red as a beet and peel. My face is always red pretty much with being outside alone in the summer time. If I don't use suntan lotion, I will be in enough pain to...

I get sunburn very easily. My skin is rather light, and I need sunscreen with a very high SPF (either 90 or 100, I can't remember.) I remember last summer that I was actually attempting to tan my skin, and of course that didn't work out. I ended up with a painful sunburn for a...

Such is my fate. Scottish ancestry bred truer

for me than for my brothers. I was always the one who would burn every time we went to the beach. Of course I grew up in the era when sunscreen was one-type-fits-all. I have fared far better since the advent of SPF, the higher the better! I often say I have only two colors...

    Apparently :/

The lady who did my makeover, she told me my skin wasn't actually oily, but it was overproducing oil because of the harsh soaps I was using. It was much too drying on my face, so I switched to facial soaps labeled as "gentle cleansers".... It's been about a week since switching...
