    This was my grandfather,

Johannes. He was a officer of the SS, but according to my grandmother, he joined the SS in accordance to our family's military tradition, and he saw the Wehrmacht Heer as "too soft". In 1945, he organised an evacuation of Hungarian villagers to help them escape from the invading...

Not just for those who serve

or have served, but their families as well. The support they have for them, knowing that any time that their loved ones are deployed may be the very last time they see them again, is just as deserving of support in my opinion.

Kurt Knispel: the greatest tank ace of WW2.

Knispel was a Sudeten German Panzer loader-then-commander who commandeered a Königstiger (King Tiger) Panzer, and had 168 confirmed kills. It's possible the actual number might be 195.
