So my husband said something interesting last night. He said that Social Security was mainly set up by the republican party. This is one of the most socialist policies I have ever seen, but no one seems to complain about it. Is it true this was set up by republicans? If so who are they to point fingers at Obama for wanting to help society?

He is wrong.  It was set up by FDR, the champion of lieralism/progressive causes.
