    Tricks of the Trade

I used to kneel down in the aisles and pick up really large objects then act like I was showing my child it or looking the merchandise over. I'd always be turned away from everyone. Or I'd pick up a really large children's book and start softly reading it out loud, then tent it...

    Get Over It!

Of course, women should breastfeed in public if they choose. Babies need to it! I think it's strange that boobs are everywhere, but people are so uptight about breastfeeding. *scratches head* I don't care if the mom wears a hooter hider, I don't care if she just whips it out...

I Breastfeed In Public Without Hesitation

I support breastfeeding in public.  I do it myself daily.  I have three kids so I am always on the run.  I breastfeed while grocery shopping, walking at the mall, chasing kids at the park, at school functions, while vaccuming, loading/unloading the...

    My Store

I manage a small store.  Due to the nature of the store, I have a couple of chairs and tables where people can sit and socialize.  A couple of days ago, a young couple was in the store with a newborn.  After a short time, she became fussy.  The mother took her...

    Memories

As a very keen and active (& proactive) breastfeeding supporter, when I had my own son, the question never arose anout how he might be fed - it was a given, as per nature's intention. Breastfeeding is the biological norm and always should be viewed as such. Unquestionably there...

    Breastfeeding Myths

    1. Nursing mothers cannot breastfeed if they have had X-rays. Not true! Regular X-rays such as a chest X-ray or dental X-rays do not affect the milk or the baby and the mother may nurse without concern. Mammograms are harder to read when the mother is lactating but can be done...

    I definitely support public breastfeeding.

I did it when I was breastfeeding along with my girlfriends. My own daughter breastfeeds her children in public. I say good for her. Nothing more natural then a mom breastfeeding her children in public.

You Couldn't Tell I Was Breastfeeding

When I breastfed my son in public, you couldn't tell I was feeding him unless you looked very very closely.  It didn't take a shawl.  It didn't take a cover, a blanket, or a special shirt.  All that was required was a loose-fitting t-shirt and a bra.  I...

    Not a Big Deal

When I was a kid at the library with my mother we passed a woman sitting quietly to herself breastfeeding her child with a blanket slightly covering her breast, but not covering the child's face. I stared at her in puzzlement, she smiled politely and I asked my mother what she...

    Breastfeeding Is Beautiful

I breast fed all of my children and did so in public when my child was hungry. Sure, occasionally I got dirty looks in restaurants and other public places, but there was no way I was going to feed my child in an unsanitary bathroom. No mother should be expected to do such a thing...

    It's Natural...

I breastfed my babies any where I happened to be, when ever they needed to be fed: @ the Mall, restaurants, hiking, @ a rodeo, camping, it didn't matter where I was - if they needed fed... I was discrete, always draping a blanket over my shoulder. Its natural and it's healthy...

I was in the waiting room at my child's allergy clinic waiting for one of my twins to get his allergy shots. I have a 13 month old and had to feed her. An older lady was in the room with us and gave me the dirtiest look when I started feeding my daughter! Uggh! it made me so...

    I absolutely support public breastfeeding.

If an adult or an older child is hungry they go eat either at home or out. I have two kids that I am currently breastfeeding while I am pregnant. If you do not like public breastfeeding then do not look or say anything rude to us mothers who do.

I have breastfed all my kids in public areas and very little said in a negative way. Almost everyone; both male and female support public breastfeeding's except for the prudes in life. The heck with them and we do not need them in our lives. So girls keep up the good work as...

    Good On 'em!!

To all the haters, I say, Get over it and grow the **** up!! Breast feeding is a natural experience for a mother and her child, and if the child is hungry I think it's better to feed it as soon as possible than make it wait until a 'private' area is found. The majority of mothers...

I fully agree that breastfeeding is natural. It is also modest, women doing advertising show far more. But to the question what is a womans perspective on why people see public breastfeeding as such a big deal or as wrong?
