I think teachers are the best.

They should be paid appropriately and respected. They grow our children and give them the education and wisdom they need as adults.

    Teachers Deserve More

I'm NOT a teacher - but I've for the longest time - felt strongly that teachers don't get as much as they deserve.  After parents & family - teachers have such a huge influence on our children.  And good teachers change someone's life.  I am forever grateful...

You think you know what teachers do.

Right? By Sarah Blaine We all know what teachers do, right? After all, we were all students. Each one of us, each product of public education, we each sat through class after class for thirteen years. We encountered dozens of teachers. We had our kindergarten teachers and our...

    Enough!

The ultimate MYTH of public education:"Teachers are overpaid, the schools waste money, and there are too many schools, so we need to defund teachers, close schools, and then our children will be more competitive with the rest of the world."This is completely wrong! The United...

    We Teach Our Kids

They are grown up now but bringing up kids is a very important teaching job. Teach therm good manners, be polite to others, be consierate. It is an endless list of things kids must know to get along in life. Set an example. Yes, the way my wife and I run our sex lives is not a...

In American society if you make a lot of money

as a doctor or lawyer, you'll be respected and admired. If you do well in business, you'll be commended for your initiative. Make a fraction of that amount as an educational professional, and you'll at best be taken for granted, and will annually encounter a variety of...

    Under Appreciated And Unsung

First off, I'm not a teacher. But I recognize that these are the souls that find themselves in places that smell like sandwiches, staring back into the small faces of the people that will one day decide the direction of the world. People that haven't yet realized the power of...

    My mom was a teacher.

My girlfriend is a teacher... I'm kind of obligated to support teachers, right? Seriously though, teachers are so important, it's a shame that they are not held in higher esteem by society and paid a wage representative of how important their work is.

We need to advance the teaching profession

and support our schools. To much money goes to entitling support for those without a qualified education. If we can educate, properly, our future, we won't need entitlement programs. Today's children will be able to support themselves. As Jesus said... Let us make us fishers of...

    More Than A Job

I was chatting with a teacher recently about work. He was suggesting that the sort of work (Information Technology) that I was trying to get into was hard. I replied that I couldn't think of anything more challenging than wrangling a roomful of children day after day.

Teachers Are Like Boobs, They Need Lots of Support....

You know how people say they may not support the war, but they support the troops?  I wish more people felt that way about teachers. I am an elementary school teacher, and I will be the first in line to say that public education is and has been screwed up. But...

    Setting A Minimum

We have two daughters who are grown up now. I set a minimum level of education for them. You keep going to school , taking what you wish, until you get a job that wil support you. After that , it is up to you. Never be reliant on a man to support you. You need independence...

Teachers have an outsized influence in shaping

minds of children and through them, future of the society. Relative to its importance, the profession is seriously underpaid. Politicians and school boards are too quick to go after teachers' benefits when they have budget issues. Not nice. Btw, I had a serious crush on my...

    The Torch
