Scared To Take Lithium But Not Sure What Choice I Have

I've had bipolar II since I was a teen. I've only ever been on anti-depressants and they weren't effective enough to stabilise me. Have been in and out of therapy which I see as an utter waste of time as I'm really tired of talking about myself and experiences blah blah blah...

    Lucky One

I used to take depakote and zoloft for my bipolar and it was horrible. The side effects were far worse than the few little benefits the drugs gave me. I only started lithium a few weeks ago, but I feel a little more stable, a little less angry. I'm hoping that I'll be...

After 10 years of being on anti depressants, my phsyciatrist has now told me Im not depressded, I am bi-polar, Yay..well that accounts for the crazy mood swings, for no reason at all. The fact that I spent over 10 thousand dollars in just under a month, on crap things like...

I've been taking Lithium for a few years now. I guess it works or I wouldn't continue to take it...The only thing I hate is the stupid Lithium Levels I have to get every six weeks to check my kidney or something inside me. Waking up that early to get a needle poke and a bruise...

    Crossing My Fingers

Hopefully this one will work.  I've been on just about every psych drug in existence, and none have done much.  But I've been on Lithium for a few months now and it seems to be helping.  Granted, I could do without the bloodwork...but that's a small price to pay to finally be...

    Started yesterday, a half dose.

I'm so sensitive that I felt some relief right away though not fully, of course. Started to slow my very rapid, incessant thought patterns where it actually hurt a little to try to think the usual recurring thoughts--which was not bad at all. Felt drowsy but with one espresso I...
