    you make a promise it's a contract,

it is binding as iron and absolute as death. to lie is to give your tongue, to steal is to lose a hand, the price of a broken word is the most grievous of crimes in my mind

Dead on yes. When I make a promise I keep it.

I can be crafty with my words sometimes so when I do make a promise sometimes it's not why the person excepted it to be but a promise is a promise and they shook on my words so they play by them. So yes I take promises VERY seriously. Lots of people doubt me but there just the...

    I know I shouldn't take them seriously

Not serious like I'll kill you

if you break one though. Just if I make a promise I always keep it. Atleast I try my best in every way to make sure the promise is done. If I ask you a question I usually follow up with "You promise?" Sometimes I don't even realize that I ask that. I just really want the people...

    Ability- Inability

I take promises seriously. Maybe too seriously?  I don't know...  All I know is that I have making promises that I'm unsure if I can keep.  It makes me feel terrible knowing that I was unable to keep a promise that I made to someone I care about. Then again...why should I even...

I just don't get why you would make a promise

if you didn't mean it, if you didn't want to promise then you could of said something alternative to 'I promise'

    Mission Impossible

I no longer take promises seriously. Why?  Because of all the promises that others made to me and broke.  Because of everyone's inability to do the easiest of **** to keep trust, yet do a couple big things that won't last.  I just can't keep up with taking them seriously for...

The words "I promise" don't have to be said to

actually be involved in a promise. Everything you say you will do, is already taken as one, unless you clearly mention that it is not certain. Be careful with what you say; put on an extra filter on your words.

    Because, in the end, all

that matters is my word..and the actions I take to keep it.

If I ever make a promise to someone,

I keep it. Because I am a strong believer in promises! If I have any doubt of keeping it, I won't make a promise. So, if I promise you something, count on me!

    When people tear you apart

and promise to leave your life, they should keep that promise. I can't take any more pain so go far away from wherever I am, please.
