I Talk Out Loud To Myself

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 709 People

It's therapy to me. The relaxing part of the

day. If I don't talk to myself, I think that would make me even crazier than how society already sees me. I'm an introvert. I hate small talk. I am confident that I will not small-talk myself. That's why I feel comfortable about it. And anything goes. I even role-play by...

    On Important Topics

I often find myself alone in my house screaming my head off about something. I always start out so average, like I am at some sort of business meeting. Then as time goes on, I get louder and my opinions shine brighter. I often cuss at nobody during this time, usually to be sure...

I do it, probably becuase of lonliness.

I've done it most of my life. I pretend to be talking on camera for a Vlog, or to some other person.

Ok so I have this problem of talking out loud

to myself. I really creep people out and I feel like they judge me for talking to myself.

    Why I Talk To Myself

I talk to myself out loud when i'm home by myself because it's a way for me to keep myself entertained and keep my mind off of everything else i think about when i'm alone.

    Diary Entry: #1

Dear diary, This week has been this first week of school, (8th grade). This morning I woke up and went to my grandparents house for the day. My sister and I were fighting like usual, but this time it was a lot worse, but I got over it. I'm a little scared and nervous for...

I talk to myself a lot.

Sometimes in a British accent but I see that I'm not alone and don't need to be committed.

Like now. When someone relentlessly calls me

about every little dramatic piece of bull$hit. Why does someone call you when all they want to do is listen to themselves talk? Pissed off with people born in April I can rant and no one has to listen to me be angry at the injustices of being taken for granted as someone to...

I talk to myself a lot.

Like a lot, and in great detail. Like I'm talking to other people but I'm the only one there. In my head I could be in a group of people making them all laugh with something funny I say. And in my mind they laugh and I laugh with them. Then I tell myself I'm really funny and I...

"There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman; some

kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there."

    I been doing this for

as long as I can remember and my parents always try to stop me but I dealt with loneliness so I had no one to talk to. So I have learned to deal with challenges and learn to enjoy my own company by talking to myself. I tend to go overboard but I am trying to gain control over it...

I do it more often as I get older.

I try to listen to music to keep myself from doing it so much. I do it by accident while I am walking down the street. I say really mean things to myself; I recall something I did that I feel embarrassed about, and I exclaim, 'You idiot!' Then I say, 'Stop it!' I feel like I...

For as long as I can remember,

! But Sometimes it's good to talk to yourself, healthy even! It's good to remind yourself, and this, this is just a way of doing that. I only talk to myself because I get really angry really easily (but it's expected when I have to live in a place where I can't even be myself...

Esp in the car on my way to work.

Found myself talking to the Charlie outside my window, clinging desperately to the poorly placed web. I told him of life, people, and better options for real estate. He taught me of indifference and appreciating the small things; it was a good talk.

I Talk To Imaginary People As If They Are There. Now I Believe They Are.

For so long I've had this group of characters who I talk to on a daily basis, think about, and even do activities with. I go places and feel they are there with me, and sometimes act out scenes in my bedroom about us talking together, playing together, fighting, joking around...

    I've always talked to myself

but I only incessantly depended upon my own voice when I was about six years-old and beyond. I used to get left at home a lot of the time and I was pretty much alone most of the time. My house back then was huge. We had twelve rooms (for whatever strange reason) and they were...
