I Think Being Nice Is Important

    How Sad.

It's very sad when people make a conscious effort to be mean to someone.  Especially someone they don't even know.  No matter how "crazy"(I despise that word) you may feel someone is, if you don't truly know them you can't judge them. The person you just cursed out and called...

    Do It For Joe

Where I live, if I want to go to the mall I have 4 choices within a 20 minute drive, but I almost always go to "my mall".  Its not the biggest of the 4, but it has all the stores I like to shop in.  It has a very large victorias secret, a macys, 4 jewelry...

There is so much negativity in this world

why follow the crowd. It's also so rewarding to make people's day or be the cause of a smile or laugh :)

    Mr. Nice Guy

I remember a few months ago I was complaining about how much I was fed up of being the nice guy to everyone, with the occasional feeling of being used or being taken for granted, and I had somehow convinced myself to push away whoever caused me some sort of pain and hurt. But...

Alright so I have come across several

experiences or questions where people were either asking for help, or perhaps feeling so down which led to then posting stuff like "planning to kill myself" or something similar and what greeted me in the replies were ignorant and insensitive remarks being made instead of the...

I respect people who can be nice.

Sometimes it's extremely hard to be nice. I am learning to be nice to these people who aren't so nice to me. I have no choice but to like them for the next 2 years because it's impossible to leave them. I'm not being bullied but I'm not getting treated fairly.

I Think It Is and I Hope I Am

I don't really like the word 'nice' - its very insipid.  But the associations the word has - politeness, civility, kindness, friendliness, courtesy - are important I think and I hope I behave that way in most cases. Today I might not have been very nice - you can see my...

One of the Life's More Pleasant Challenges

This is one of the keys to my own personal success, and of being able to live with myself.  Despite being trodden on more times than I can recall, being nice is a quality which, I believe, reaps its own benefits, both internal and external.  Though not guaranteed, more...

A smile can change a person's whole day.

A compliment can turn a day around. It doesn't have to be big things, being nice is easy and can have a huge impact on someone.

I remember when I first began to want to become

a better person someone told me that if you’re good to the world that the world will be good to you. At one point I believed that. If you’re nice to strangers or do nice things for people they generally won’t be rude to you, but will in return say something nice to you or...

Kindness is probably the trait I value the most.

I think being nice to each other really is something important, it can bring immense joy to anyone. However, while I do value it I think it can be bad. I admire selflessness as well but sometimes I realize that kindness leads to naivety and in some cases self-destruction. It's...

I enjoy being nice to people,

life is to short to be angry and sad all the time! We all have our days but I try to focus on being positive. Yes everyone knows that one person who is ridiculously happy and it's annoying but being nice is a good thing and shouldn't be a rare quality in today's world.

Being Nice Is My True Calling

Being nice is a sign of strength to me.  It means not giving in to all the negativity surrounding me.  If I can make someone smile I feel wonderful inside!  A simple hello to a stranger lights them up from inside.  Asking, "How are you today", and standing there to listen to...

Realise that you can't always count on others

to respect your feelings, even if you respect theirs.Being a good person doesn't guarantee that others will be good people too.You only have control over yourself, over how you choose to be as an individual. And as for others, you can only accept them or walk away.
