    The Tears of a Clown

I think crying is a positive thing.  It's very therapeutic to cry sometimes just as a good hearty laugh every now and then is good for you, but there is a time and place for all things and anything done in excess can be harmful.

I cry a lot. Sometimes I pretty much go out and look for a reason to cry.  Whenever I feel stressed out or worried about something, crying makes me feel so much better.  I'm a bit of an 'emotion junkie', as I like to call it; when something happens to me, good or bad...

    Boys' Tears

i'll bet there's something that makes me cry at least every day - a story I hear about someone, a picture, a memory.  I used to think it was unbecoming to cry this much (EVEN for someone as femme-y as me) , but after a while i thought, hey, it's *me*).   I always...

    Crocodile Tears

I too think that crying is a positive thing. I wish I could cry with more ease. I am just wondering though if anyone else has trouble with people who use tears in a more manipulative way. I think when most people cry, it is quite genuine and it affects me deeply on a heartfelt...

    Emotional Rollercoasters?!?

We see it every night on the news. Abuse, murder, family crisis', the war, and these are just off the top of my mind,  they are impossible to escape.  Several people have died that I know in the last two months and I can't cope being Bipolar 1.  The...

    Good?? It's Brilliant

You're just letting all thoose emotions inside of you go, letting them stream down your face as tears. It never is clever to bottle them in, when they eventually come out, it won't be pretty. You're also showing how you feel if you honestly can't word it. Just, don't do it too...

I was hanging out with a friend

and he brought his co-worker along. I had met his coworker before, but she still didn't really know me well and she almost started crying (now this is compassion) when I told her about a childhood sport/coach incident. I will never forget what this guy did (sparing you from the...

    Now, Where Are Those Tissues?

We all understand what crying is, and most people associate it with sadness, but sometimes weakness. And the predictable question that follows: Are you ok?  I say YES, dammit, I am very ok! To me crying is important. It is a tool i use when I need to release tension...

I was going to cry, but I knew that if anybody spoke to me or looked at me too closely the tears would fly out of my eyes and the sobs would fly out of my throat and I'd cry for a week. I could feel the tears brimming and sloshing in me like water in a glass that is unsteady and...

    Does anyone else have days

where they watch sad movies to cry? I find it really helps me focus again and get rid of my emotions for a while. Thinking today would be a good day to do it

Every Emotion Is Now a Cry

I had a bit of a bad childhood from the age of 5 to 10 and at 13 I had an older violent boyfriend. At the time i had nowhere to go or no one to talk to about both incidents so i used to get so angry and frustrated. I never cried once but would always lash out at objects, punching...

    Each Tear Has A Story

I'm bracing for something that seems to be heading in a direction that I feared would take. The more I think about the laughter and newness we shared, tears would well up. I wish that she could read every story that each tear has to say. One for instance, I miss the long talks...

The Lakes of My Tears Bring Understanding

I think that crying tells us something about ourselves. It tells us how much something bothers us, how sensitive we are, and what matters most to us. It can bring a lot of self-discovery. Crying releases the pain inside for me. It's a way of dealing with the situations in my...

    Crying Purges The Soul

It brings me a sense of peace and clarity when I cry. I get the sense of  "Okay you can move on now." I can't pinpoint aspecific happening but there have been several instances where I had one of those no resolution arguments with my husband and he'd just walk out on...

    It Certainly Can Be

i think crying can definitely be a positive thing, especially as an act of emotional exploration and catharsis. most of the time i feel better after having had a good cry, as opposed to holding in my emotions. on the other hand, i've seen crying be a negative thing as well, when...

To me tears are a healthy and cleansing release.  Laughter and tears though being the antithesis of one another, are both good for our souls and hearts. In crying, we physically release tears, the tears symbolise what we have been holding internally, holding back from...
