    Diamonds And Roses

Guys seem to think if they buy a girl a diamond or some roses, that girl will melt.Blah I could not care less about either.

    Vey Overrated....

I have never really like Diamonds.  Sure they are pretty & sparkly but that's about it.  I've always loved colored stones. Rubies are my favorite & cheaper than Diamonds.  I once received a Diamond tennis bracelet & made him take it back.  It cost...

    That Avatar Kills Me

It makes me smirk, but really angers me at the same time because it is one of many gender stereotypes I feel smothered by on a daily basis and pretty much spend most of my existence in the outside world trying to quell while knowing full well I should stop because it just keeps...

There's a Great Quote Floating Around.

Nothing says "I love you" like worthless shiney rocks clawed from the guts of the earth by african slave labor.   YAY! SLAVES!

    Whats The Difference?

CZ still sparkles. I know because I wear one in the shape of a heart. Diamonds are unethical anyway The. DeBeers corporation uses South African slavery to mine their diamonds. Diamonds are for never.

The Cost of An Engagement Ring

After 5 years of marriage it still bugs me that I spend $10,000 on an engagement ring.  I remember hearing stories of guys who paid that much or more and thinking that I'd never spend as much on a ring.  But when it came time and she said she wanted a big ring I caved...

    OoOo! Shiny!

Diamonds are very nice gems. They sparkle and glitter when the sun hits them and are supposed to be a 'girl's best friend.' Ummm...not this girl. I think that, in general, too much focus is given to diamonds. So much in fact, that someone (read: woman) would rather have a...

Maybe I'm more into things that matter, or maybe I'm just inexperienced...I dont know. I'm 32 and I've never really had "gifts" like that. I dont really care if I have big expensive gifts or gawdy looking jewelry, I would rather get a gift I can use. I dont melt when I pass by a...

Sure, diamonds are pretty.  Sparkly.  Much as I like sparkly things, diamonds don't do much for me.I like my gemstones with color.  The rich blue of sapphires, the deep green of emeralds, the reddest red of rubies... all those stones can be cut with the beautiful facets you...

Black opals are much more interesting. Every one is unique and they have such a magical quality about them. Just look at the variation in colour! Like a nebula in a stone! They inspire my imagination a lot more than diamonds.

    Always The Blue

Diamonds are nice. I think the only one I ever owned was in my engagement ring and it was nothing spectacularly showy. I don't like the big "look at me" stones anyway. I might like a pair of diamond stud earrings just because they go with everything. We'll see. My...

    No Thanks

I like simple things that will last a long time. This ring would please me more than a diamond:

    The Hardest Mineral

I had this business professor who said that when a man buys a woman a diamond he is essentially buying s*ex. If he isn't buying s*ex, then he is buying companionship. Wow. Now I really don't ever want to own a diamond. The diamond is my birthstone, too, and I really just...

    Very Much So....

The ultimate statement of diamonds being a girl's best friend truly conveys the extent to which they are a very materialistic and shallow item. However, as with the other stories that are so far within this group, it is the way by which they are acquired I have the most...
