I am a smart girl and I love learning,

but my grades suffered after my depression became unbearable. After two semesters of failed grades I was promptly suspended with the notion that I'm a horribly sorry excuse of a mess, that I'm not good enough for college and not smart enough to make it in the big kid world. But...

I feel like my good grades show how well

and fast i have learned to cram information. Teachers seem to focus more on getting things done rather than teaching the information in a way that leaves an impression on the students. From so many classes I feel like I have walked away thinking "I haven't learned a single thing...

    I usually have good grades,

but it means nothing, I simply throw up a bunch of memorized lines in a sheet of paper, and get praised by some adults. I cannot apply what I learn to real life, I cannot even remember those things I found interesting, I cannot get a medicine degree like this, and that is my...

I'm book smart and I love to read,

but I hate being in a class room so someone can dictate to me what to learn. I've quit A levels twice but that doesn't mean I'm stupid, I just don't want to be retain facts without knowing how to use them irl.

and different fields of expertise, not everyone fits into maths, English, subjects like these. That's why I don't like it when the my cheerleader friends make fun of the art ''nerds'', they have their talent. My friends are sporty, they are artistic, that's what I always tell...

in school is important. why would someone who wants to write books need a algebra class? (example). we really should be teaching how to create and maintain bank accounts, how to get insurance and look for a house, how not to get scammed outta money and how to write a résum...

Sometimes those with worse grades have higher I.

Q.'s. They are just bored with the subject matter. I've seen it before.

I'm proof of that. I always did okay in school

but was easily bored. It wasn't until later that it was discovered that I had a high I.Q. and was brighter than my teachers. Explained everything.

Grades are a measure of your education.

I.Q. is a rough indication of intelligence. The two things are entirely different. High intelligence usually just means that you can solve cryptic crosswords faster than someone with lower intelligence. Most employers are interested not in intelligence, but in the ability to...

Good grades mean you figured out how to take

the tests. Now in all seriousness that's good in itself because to make it in the world you have to catch on how to play games. Good grades do measure social intelligence. But this has nothing to do with the ability to learn, with creativity, or with the ability to solve...

At college when there is a key bit of info we

need to know teachers will sometimes use the words 'regurgitate' as in simply repeat this in the exam. Just proves that it doesn't matter if you actually understand it and can engage with the subject, as long as you can memorise words from a textbook you'll do well.

Grades are stupid. For one thing someone can be

very smart but just not be interested in the subject, or they might have recieved poor schooling. Plenty of things can happen to change your grade that have nothing to do with intelligence, and many students stress out over grades when they are probably inaccurate.
