    Materialism=evil?

I'll be frank about it: i am materialistic. every time i see new gadgets, i just cant resist it! the next day you'll find me collecting information about that thing and saving money for it. that's the good thing though, i rely most of the time on my own money. the problem is, i...

    I Love My Stuff.

I have stuff. I love my stuff. I love the stuffed bear that mom gave me on my 14th birthday that I still sleep with when I get upset. I love the georock that my brother brought back for me from a skiing trip with his friends. I love squishy brain stress ball that my...

    On the value of gold.

.. Why? That’s tough to say. It could be mainly just off of its “material” value… how it can be used to make the highest form of jewelry or used in ornamental decoration in architecture. Gold has a fairly high level of conductivity in usage in electronics but I am sure...

But I Keep Falling For It Anyway.

even while my brain is shouting, "it's fool's gold, you idiot!" it can't quite drown out the little voice that whispers, "but it's so shiny....just touch it....."

You Can't Take It With ...

You can't take it with you.  Like my friend Michael, they called him get-overs because he would never sell you anything at a fair price.  Actually he would never sell.  Michael collected things, also known as trash.  He had so much stuff that he lived in a...

    So Many Things More Valuabl...

So many things more valuable.   Materialistic I most certainly am not. There are other things that are much more important to me. These include the health and safety of my family, friends and other loved ones. Items are easily replaceable but people are not.

    One Can Chase Paper Trail

i find the pursuit of wealth and riches pointless, ok it is great to have nice things, but in the end it just becomes vanity and your material objects just represent you and you never find your true self

    Many Definitions

"Materialism: a desire for wealth and material possessions with little interest in ethical or spiritual matters". I'm going with this definition for my story as I think the other definition doesn't apply - judging by the Experience photo.  The other...

    I Call It Stuffitus

Since I was 18 years old, and in my own place, I found myself buying things I didn't need, trying to make myself feel better. I also used to drink too much alcohol, which I quit at age 28, but at 49, the desire to buy is still a challange. I do buy used items and on sale, and not...

    Screw You Materialistic Bs.

I've always been more about, friends and love. Money can't make me happy, no matter how many items i have they can't make me happy. The only item that does make me happy is my PC because without it, I couldn't communicate and make friends! I am socially inept in RL.

    Sure...

And it's good to realize, accept and know that in one's heart. You can't take it with you to the afterlife and one shouldn't live nor breathe for it. Enjoy it! Like it! Even love it! (just a little) but worship it? No. Is it the most important thing in the world? No. If the world...

    Just Don't Need It

Not a materialistic person… just not my thing. If I want it and can’t get a cheaper or used version I don’t get it. I don’t need "stuff" just to have it… as long as we are together we have the world.
