It seriously hurts going to school I feel awful

there I hate how there is so much conformity there it feels like I'm suffocating. I mean spending 1hr and 30 min in classes I have no interest in, it's like a box and every year it seems to worsen. I'm starting to think school is just a jailer for conformity and I hate it, I...

    School Year Is Too Short

Americans go to school the least days of any developed country. In the US the school year is 180 days. In the UK it's 190. In Japan it's 230. Sometimes the answers are really easy. This is one of those things. Our kids don't go to school enough days a year.

As much as I would like to see change in the school systems, I can't see it happening on a widespread scale in the near future. The recent trend in group/system structure has been the so called "McDonaldizaton". The principles of fast food restaurants are beginning to...

    Scholls Aren't Teaching Any More

November 22, 1963 Alan Caruba I doubt that most Americans will recall that, 45 years ago, on November 22, 1963, the President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Clearly, part of the reason is that a...

Unfortunately the truth is, in most cases there is not enough money. I personally believe teachers should be earning top salaries based on top classroom performance. Let's create incentives for teachers to show them we care. It sounds bad perhaps, but make teaching a job that...

Is It Legal To Start A Homeschool Community?

I feel so bad for the students now. School wasn't the all time best when I went but I never actually was scared of being shot, stabbed, etc. I have thought about setting up a community home school. Just not sure if it's legal or if it would be any better. At least it would...

Today's schools are so far behind the curve,

that it is actually funny. I can't imagine who in their right mind what actually want to become a teacher, other then that they work about 6 hours a day for 9 months out of the year. If our school system doesn't start focusing on the more important subjects like computers...

    No Mon. No Fun.

America's schools are flawed. They teach to the "test." Once testing is done, the kids (at least in elementary schools) don't do much of anything academic, while the rest of the year, they are crammed with homework and on the fast track to learn. But that's another story. What I...

The Public School Model Is In Deep Trouble Around The World.
