I Think the Word Hate Is Used Indiscriminately

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 116 People

I have an aversion to, I'm not keen on and strongly dislike the word 'Hate'.. Because, frankly, it's used too much and rarely in the right context. It's hard to say what this 'right context' might be since it's just a feeling. Aversion is a feeling. But it's not as sickening...

    Married And Lonely

I have been with this person for 11 years and have 2 kids with this guy.  I am a health professional and live in a small town that I hate.  My husband is almost like a 3rd child.  I support us and have been doing so for almost 3 years.  I have not been intimate with him in...

Quite the expression to 'hate' Something ...

I'm not sure about you, but I was taught NOT to hate anything or anyone.  I was taught to 'hate' the word 'hate.'  It's such an ugly word.  As a child I was allowed to dislike things and people.  I was allowed to be adverse to them.  I was allowed...

Hate is more than just something to be said to people as a joke. Hate is no joke. Hate is a feeling that burns from a person's inner core and eats away at living souls. Hate ruins people, conquering them so that their defeats become the defeats of their counterparts until the...

Yes, I Think The Word Hate Is Used Indiscriminately, thank goodness. There're so many ******** and jerks out there that only a shock treatment will get their attention and make them see we're onto them. Like the sentence "I'm not a jerk, I really hate your guts. I hope your...

    An Alternative Term

It's a bit wordy - but how buy instead of using "I 'hate' them" for example, we could go with "I'm ignorantly frustrated' by them.  Just a thought.

    Take Care With Your Words

Have you noticed how careless we have become with our use of words? So many times someone will say, "I hate fill-in-the-blank". when all they meant was, "I don't care for relish (or fill-in-the-word)". This is the first definition for hate that I came across...

    I'm Guilty Myself

I have lots of I hate... in my experiances.  Like I hate people who wear to much perfume.  I don't hate them, I hate the perfume.  It's hard to be consise in a sentance, but I think people know what we mean.  What I mean anyway.

    Word Salad

There are lots if words and phrases that get abused. "Freedom of speech" is one of my favorites. But hate? Hate is a word that gets abused possibly more than all others. Hate is tossed around in order to end a discussion or to throw someone off. I believe many don't...

Do you know what I "hate?

" When people don't agree with something simple or placent, some of them start uttering bull like, "OMG, I hate everything! Nobody gets me!! You're all stupid!!!" Or something along that line. Of course, it kind of defeats the purpose considering that there are at least another...

    Used Far Too Often!!!!

Especially on Ep….seems everyone hates this or that.   I added a story to a group the other day where the group title contained the word “hate”. A member basically called me on it saying hate was such a strong word. They were right. I had...
