I walked away not to long ago.

I've had many regrets with leaving. But also have had things I don't regret about it... Right now I'm regretting it more than I ever have, or thought I would... This just sucks...

    I Still Do, On Occasion.

Born into it, I can't completely separate myself from it- and I wish I could. See, on the one hand, there's the rational, logical side of me- okay, nine-tenths of me- that refuses to believe fully in, bow down to, or live my life by the commands of someone I'm not entirely...

    Just a Phase

It happened when I was 13. One day, my mother got a wild hair up her ***, and forced the entire family to go to church. It was obvious from the get-go that my heart wasn't into it, except for the whole free wine and bread thing*. I was constantly reprimanded for asking for...

    I Want My Church Back

My family was active and attended a local church, but the current minister has really made a mash of things. The minister is a bit of a local celebrity and was hired because they thought lots of people would join based on that reputation. But the minister has really taken...

Reasons For Not Going to Church.

There are two reasons why people do not go to church: 1) They do not know a Christian. 2) They know a Christian.

This wasn't the only time I had gone to church.

I had gone to churches in Georgia before, I would always go from church to church. Now obviously when someone does this, they want to go to church, they just can't find one that gives them good feelings, gives them good vibes. This happened in Florida. One day I was at...

    Raised Catholic

I was raised Catholic, so my dad carted off my sister and I to church every Sunday until we moved out of the house. Of course, if you ask my paternal grandparents, they'll tell you I still go to church... ;)   ~Jennie

    Not Anti God

I don't really pray anymore and my second job gets in the way of attending church. I used to go to Bible study but people can be very condemning of things like beer or enjoying life. None of that's God's fault.

The reason that I used to go to church was my grandmother. She was a very active part of my childhood and also very devout Catholic. Resultantly, I spent a lot of time at church.  When I was young, it wasn't that bad...mostly because my grandma would let me fall asleep in...
