It Is Written In The Stars

Just checked Rob Brezsney's "Free Will Astrology" sight for this week's horoscope, and I received the most precious reading.  It is absolutely what I needed to hear:   Historians trace the origin of Poland as a nation to the year 966. It mostly thrived...

Having had lost it for much of the first half

of my life, I'll be damned if I'll ever relinquist it again. I have it, it's nobody else's to take or compromise in any way. I refuse to be effectly enslaved for what's left of my life. Life is too short to live miserably and in somebody else's shadow, to sacrifice my own needs...

    Not Giving It Up Again

Independence is something everyone should value like a pile of gold. I had it, lost it and got it back and now I don't think it will ever be far from my side. It's not like I when to jail and had the door close behind me, I gave it up slowly, like sand falling through an hour...

Can a person value their independence entirely

too much? I have been keeping journals for about two years to date and have learned so much about myself in the process. I used to be dependent to a certain degree, but I have learned that doesn't quite work for me well. I have learned to become independent, and although I...

    The Pull Of The Tide

I realize that one could simply sum up my chaotic state of mind as nothing more than a typical midlife crisis.  Nonetheless, from where I stand today, the landscape before me is awash in a sea of questions.  The tide is pulling me out, and though I seem steady on the...

I am starting my 2nd year of college

and am moving off campus to live. I'm kind of anxious because there is more independence and freedom involved, but I hope I can gain some valuable life lessons throughout it all. It's both an exciting and nervous feeling.

I have an issue with giving my independence

away. Specifically being a stay at home wife!! I know it's horrid way of thinking but I see it as a form of prostitution like an exchange for them providing security. I have a problem accepting to be taken care of financially and feel submissive. "Man take care of me and now...

    It Works For Me

One of the benefits of maturing is seeing yourself accurately.  In my 20s I tried to be what I thought others wanted me to be, my 30s were a time of introspection spent figuring out what I wanted and needed to live the life I was meant to live. I spent very little, almost no...

    Taking My Freedom Back!

A couple of days ago, the person I have been renting a room from made several remarks to me regarding my belongings. It took those 2 remarks to make a decision to leave from there. My husband and I have a property 60 miles from where I have my small cleaning business and it makes...

    Well...

Beyond 'Independence' allowed or disallowed by state/country, I'm choosing to address another aspect. I've held a full time job since I was 16.  I've paid for everything since then.  The freedoms, liberties and yes, independence your own income affords you is...

    I do value independence

but would like to have a partner. I don't think the family is wrong. If a married couple has a child it's his obligation to take care of it. Don't have sex with someone you don't love and custody , child support and welfare won't be an issue. Same if she has a good job and the...

    Until

It is the opposite of flags and hymns, it is a sentiment with deep roots. I get nervous when I am claimed even by a person I like. Freedom rules my inner world, the only space there is where I feel safe enough because nobody can see me there. In that still expanding realm I...

    Independence Is Life..

I almost died spiritually recently. I have Cerebral Palsy and I have no right to have my own life due to uptight Australian government regulations on in-home support/personal care and agency rules. I will fight for my rights forever, please support me.
