I 've Been Told That I Look Sad All The Time

    Ugh...

People started pointing this out to me when I was in middle school. "You never smile!" "You look sad." For a while I worked really hard at contiously trying to smile all the time. Recently I got a new coworker that has said something EVERY DAY for over a month like "Are you...

    It's my concentration face.

I look dejected and I can't help it. After every test, somebody always goes "Are you okay" and that just makes me mad cause I WAS okay then you ask me and now I'm mad

If I had a dollar for every time someone asked

if I was okay.... everyday it's the same question. I once asked a coworker why he always asks if I'm okay and he told me that I have a sad smile and old eyes. I think most of them are confusing sadness with pensiveness. I'm a naturally reserved individual; I don't engage in...

One time was by a teacher.

They actually said "Stop looking so angry all the time!" He was making a joke, but to be frank, I felt insulted.

I'm constantly being asked "What's wrong?

", "Why are you sad?" and told "You look like you're going to cry." "You look sad.". After seeing the guidance counselor because a teacher thought something was wrong, she said nothing was wrong but, "She's just a sad girl.". I can pull off puppy eyes and pouting if I try, haha...

I'm constantly being reminded by family members

and friends that sadness lurks and dwells in my eyes or facial expression. It used to make me upset how people would assume my state of being and seemed concerned when they truly weren't. I've learned to live with it. It's become a paradigm of my existence on past experiences...

    I've always been told this.

.. This is my normal expression! It would be sort of creepy to see a person smiling at all times, either way. ... When I look sad, I look mad- no joke... My face is weird, I guess..?

I get this all the time!

people will ask me what's wrong with me, but it turns out I just have a default expression of sadness on my face which now my friends call "resting sad face". the downside to this is, when I'm actually sad and I try to let it out through my expression, no one would actually...

    Umm...yeah...

Even when I'm not sad, people come up and ask me, "Hey, what's wrong? You look sad." -.-' It's just that I'm often in a contemplative mood. And I don't always think 'happy thoughts'. So, I tend to have a...brooding expression almost all the time, which makes people think that I...

Days when I feel refreshed and happy. I think I'm smiling but sometimes some people would come up and ask if I'm ok and that I look sad or depressed. My face just seems like its unable to make happy expressions without having to try. When it's bright outside and I'm walking it...

    That Doesn't Mean I Am.

I look sad (I hear from people) when I'm feeling like normal. But when I'm happy I look neutral. Unless I'm really happy. When I'm sad I also look sad. But not more sad than normal. Unless I have a really bad day and I have a breakdown. So most of the time, I look sad. But that...

called a mistake. people at my school don't get it. I'm sorry. I'm not strong at all. I'm a weakling. I result in cutting/biting and more. They think my life is easy. It's not anywhere near that. I keep trying to show them that, but look at it now. I can't even keep myself...

    I have frowning lips,

when I don't smile my lips actually look like an upside down smile. People seem to think I am frowning instead of realizing That's the way my face is. Also I used to think I was smiling during conversation when it was more of a frown being stretched downward lol A then so called...

Yes, I can very much relate to this.

My friends, even people I don't know that well or people I just met would ask, "Are you okay ?" I find humor in it now. I was just born with a really sad looking face. Sometimes I am sad, other times I'm not. Sometimes I even look angry. I actually had problems with the sad...

that I was sad until other people told me. I never knew that the things I felt were not typical. I never knew that I was "negative." Now that I know, it consumes me.

people always think that I'm sad,

tired or upset like if I go out to the local sandwich store in town the dude will be like "are you ok?" Or if I'm walking down the sidewalk, or teachers. Someone said that I have sad eyes, I guess it's kind of true.
