TGirlselfesteem wrote on 08:44PM at May 24th, 2011 We are possibly the most at risk for developing negative body image. We are born in the wrong bodies, yet part of being a trans-girl is often wanting more than anything to be a girl. So we are often more image conscious than even cis-girls, and when one's body is quite different from one's brain, a sense of loss of control may ensue. This feeling can lead to any number of devastating effects, from simple anxiety or to eating disorders or even suicide. I post this thread because THERE IS HOPE. When you find someone who accepts you (and there are many accepting people), you know that if they can accept that then they can accept almost anything about you. So please... we are all beautiful, despite what any of us look like. It may take some time, but ok there are a few less fish in the sea for us, but the sea is still lively. I know it's hard because I am a trans-girl, but please... respect your body.
