we have numerous friends, because every person understands us (or part of us) on a different level. i do want my most important person to understand me (and he does, as much as a person can), but not just him. maybe i'm narcisistic, thinking that anyone else would want to understand me but myself. :o)

 

absolutely not...there is nothing narcissistic about wanting someone to understand you well..but dont expect that someone special to understand you completely...thats not possible - nor will you understand another completely, this is because people keep changing along with their relationships and circumstances which also keep changing ...so what you said is absoulutely true... we have many relationships and friends because there are many parts of us that different people understand and relate to...when someone understands those parts of you that you think are most imp - parts that form your base that make you who you are that person would understand you best although not completely

hm, i guess that would explain my own circle of ten or so "best friends" they do all get me on different levels and different ways. but i am still waiting for that one person to understand me.
